They have called up the West Brom CB Semi Ajayi in Balogun’s place.

It’s not great for us that Aribo is away but there’s not a lot he can do about the taigs being shitebags.

Well, watford have told Nigeria to fuck off.

We not do the same with Aribo, tell them we need him bk by 1rst feb...

Think there is a different scenario with Dennis regarding call up timing and he isn’t a first team pick unlike Aribo.

Also dependent on the player’s philosophy, dangerous ground to deny a player the right to play for his country.

I know he’s been really consistent for us, But I’m in agreement here.

his attitude has been spot in for us, if we denied him this he might take the huff.

also, the tarriers likely without the diver and rogic are they not?

finally, surely we have enough in our squad to cope for 2 game v them anyway?

Sky Sports had the last 5 league games against them back to back yesterday, the team line ups we had in each game were pretty disrupted with even Barker playing!

We pumped them home and away, no reason to fear them now.

In an ideal world you want your first eleven fully fit and in form available but realistically how often does that happen for any team over a season?

Totally agree that you could piss him off by denying him this opportunity to represent his country on a big stage, we never did it to Morelos for Copa America or Patterson, Helander and Kamara for the Euros.

You can't deny them under FIFA laws.

Does is still lead to a ban?

Not sure how it operates for a tournament rather than a standard international break

I think so

The release of players under the terms of paragraph 1 of this article is

mandatory for all international windows listed in the international match

calendar (cf. paragraphs 3 and 4 below) as well as for the final competitions

of the FIFA World Cup™, the FIFA Confederations Cup and the championships

for “A” representative teams of the confederations, subject to the relevant

association being a member of the organising confederation.

Based on?

Based on the time scale....thats why the lad Denis at Watford isn't going, apparently there is a cut off date for when they can ask for the players release, Nigeria missed the deadline so Watford played hard ball and refused to let him go....I doubt we would be under any pressure to release Sakala if this was the case

Would special dispensation not be granted on any cut off date so that it wouldn’t apply to a team introduced at the last minute to cover for a team disqualified/removed from the competition.

Surely they would be granted their own cut off date otherwise they would have no power whatsoever when calling up players?

Not sure bud but don't see why clubs should be left inconvienced because of a late change in who is playing in the tournament, for me it is unfair on the players clubs who are paying these players their wages
