No coincidence our defence started looking ropey when Balogun got injured, we looked far more solid with him in there. He's quick and aggressive, Goldson's a carthorse in comparison. Just a shame we don't have anyone really solid to partner him as Souttar's a bombscare at times, Goldson's fuckin' gash and Davies is Davies. In fairness Davies probably deserves a chance to partner Balogun more than the other two...... as much as that pains me to say.

Have believed for ages he is our best defender.

Him and Souttar just don't work as a defensive partnership.

He has to be dropped for Balogun for the next few games. You can't turn out these performances and get away with it.

Back to basics for Dundee and Hearts.
We need to start keeping clean sheets again. It was a huge part of our early success under Clement and covered for one of our deficiencies which we seen today is scoring goals.
I'd get Balogun back in the side for experience and just to freshen things up. I'd say play him with Goldson because it does seem to work but taking out Goldson wouldn't be out of the question.
You hope Yilmaz is back but until then it has to be Borna because Sterling is wasted at left back. I'd like to think Balogun back in would also help Borna through games.
I'd be having Sterling and Dio in front of the defence assuming Dio is back, if not then Lundstram, and Cantwell in front of them. Dynamic but also a bit of dig and energy.
I'd get Sima back on the left, McCausland on the right and unfortunately I think we're stuck with Dessers through the centre but even more reason to get things sown up at the back.
I have major doubts mentally but we still have a shot if we get things at the back sorted.

I just don't think goldson and souttar work well together as a partnership souttar might have the odd good game but we look like conceding nearly every game with those two at the back, think we need to go back to the balogun goldson partnership as for the most part looked pretty solid at the back barring the odd game

Worried about that line up; think the game will bypass Lawrence, Wright is a bottom six player on a good day. Would have played Balogun instead of Souttar as he reads the game so much better and tends not to dive in or go to ground as much. Hopefully the subs will make a difference and bring some guile and pace to punish them.
