Rangers & Bursaspor agree fee for Kenny Miller

14.jpgBBC Spotland Sportsound is reporting this evening that Birmingham City are very close to, or have already signed Kenny Miller from Rangers for an as yet undisclosed fee. It appears that after much speculation over his future, Kenny Miller will take one last crack at the Premiership under the tutelage of ex-Rangers manager Alex McLeish.

On the same day that BBC have broke the news that Rangers have had a bid for David Goodwillie rejected, believed to be around £750,000, news is now breaking that the on-form Miller will be leaving to move across the border.

A move for Miller in this transfer window will potentially free up some cash for Smith to bring in some fresh legs into the squad and it seems that David Goodwillie will be the obvious replacement for the striker. Perhaps it might be as obvious as Miller leaving for the same value that Smith has bid for the Dundee striker.

More on this story as it develops.

Is there any other big club out there who let their players leave on Bosmans just so they can get an extra 6 months out of them? It's almost unheard of nowadays

If Kris Boyd hadn't screwed us out of £3.75 million, we might have been able to give Miller the contract he wanted

Lmao...it's all big bad Boyd's fault Miller wont sign the contract offered to him <cr>doh

Only because of who does our negotiations.

I disagree downs outh is better all round, maybe financially but they wont find a club like ours down there.

Then i would fully expect Rangers to lodge a complaint against them. And it would be upto the player to demand the move to Rangers.

Of course it's up to the player if he's wants to go down south or join us, that puts a different twist on things... But to Dundee Utd or any other SPL club they do not want to strengthen US or Celtic if it can be helped. Accepting a club down south for the same amount, ticks both boxes for them and they are well within there rights to negotiate with whoever they want.

A complaint would get laughed out the building, and it has nothing to do with Martin Bain negotiations skills either.

do you mean if utd rejected a bid from us but accepted the same bid from someone like wolves ?

if so we couldnt complain , its up to utd who they sell to and would probably just say if questioned about it that they didnt want to sell to a rival club

If Miller had any intention of signing a new contract, he wouldn't be leaving right now

A lot of people forgetting this when they choose to blame the club for not letting him sit tight and pocket another £500,000, whilst costing us an extra £600,000 on top of that

Kenny Miller has rejected an opportunity to join Birmingham City after Rangers accepted a £650,000 offer for their Scotland international striker. Miller, whose contract at Ibrox expires in the summer, had been targeted by Alex McLeish as Birmingham seek to boost their attacking options.

However, a source close to the player has revealed that Miller is keen to continue his career abroad and is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with a "top foreign club" this month. He has no plans to leave Ibrox before the end of his deal.

Marseille have been heavily linked with the 31-year-old as have Bursaspor, although a move to Turkey is regarded as unlikely.

Rangers had a contingency plan should Miller, a former Wolves player, have accepted a return to the Midlands. The Scottish Premier League champions made a verbal offer of £650,000 for the Dundee United forward David Goodwillie but that was rejected in any case, with the Tannadice club seeking £1m up front for their main asset.
