They seem to be going after "names" in the hope they can pull them out of it.

Signed the Japan keeper & Guy Demel have Pongolle on trial and have been linked with Forsell & Eremenko.

When people panic and start throwing money at name veterans it usual ends in a disaster so hopefully they keep it up and end up going down as a result.

you cant keep selling the family silver and still have something to show on the park. They had sell able assets and its their prerogative to sell them, but eventually you just run out of players to sell as nobody wants the dross left - and that eventually shows on the park.

This is an interesting article:

despite selling players for £10M the debt it still "around £1Million" - and they have nobody left to sell and are bottom of the league. The " 5 year plan" just went to ratshit

The next set of accounts at DU will make for interesting reading, if after selling their best players they record a loss than one would have to say they are in deep trouble. On top of this we see an on field slump that has placed them at threat of relegation, a threat that combined with certain possible financial circumstances that some might say could bring about a move to go into admin and accept a punishment this year and lessen the affect next year in the championship.

The goings on at DU need to be closely watched to see if any moves are made to prevent their relegation by any means as well as the state of their finances and paying of tax commitments. I would doubt even DU wouldn't be that stupid considering that HMRC might be less than willing to cut them a deal in light of the recent appeal of the BTC, but then again the only people they seem to have had any problem with as far as deals was concerned seems to be Rangers.

Now if I were a DU fan I'd be asking how they were allowed to be asset stripped by a rival club and if any of the cash brought in from the sale of the back bone of their team had been ear marked to be used to help the possible purchase of a club in Australia?
