I hope that's not the last of Jordon Thompson we see for this season.  The young lad could do a real job for us at CDM and is a specialist at that positon.  I don't see why the manager keeps playing Haliday in there since he's a poor CDM and not the answer.  Give the young boy some game time and let's see where he's at.

3 clean sheets will do me. Obviously still to be properly tested (first 45 against Motherwell aside) but what a contrast to the latter stages of last season. I know the opposition has been poor but sometimes when we're so dominant that's when lapses in concentration at the back happen the most. Hasn't happened and that's obviously a good thing. I thought Wilson and Hill strolled it tonight and Danny's range of passing in the first half was brilliant. In particular a few of his passes out wide to MOH reminded me of F De Boer's debut and if that was F De Boer tonight we would all be raving about him.

BTW I'm not trying to compare F De Boer to Danny Wilson but credit where it's due and thought his passing was worth a mention tonight in what was otherwise a game played in the manner that Warburton is treating them - a pre-season friendly.

Don't know what happened tonight. We won 3-0 but I don't feel as if I watched a competitive game of football at all. Really took the foot off second half. Wonder what the hat will think about it.

Think we wanted through the game with a win, with no injuries and having rotated some of the squad so we ticked all the boxes.  Nice to see Thompson get some time

I wasn't that impressed by the lad if I'm honest.

Barrie Mc Kay another man of the match in a quiet game for him

Shows the talent that he is.

Positives from tonight Windass he just cruised the first half &  joe scores on his debut which for confidence for his next match can only be a plus .

Boring game but we have a squad now lets use it and its a luxury that we have position for places

He doesn't stand a chance, he has Barton, Rossiter and Halliday all ahead of him. I don't think this is the season to be experimenting with younger players like that.

ETA: Crooks as well.

I thought he was poor and he cant afford to be when he gets a chance. Haliday is there because he's a better player.

I thought one of the commentators said that Thompson told him he was going out on loan down south this season :(

We have 3 players that can play CDM, 3 good players. It wouldn't make any sense to keep Thompson. And as much as I really, really don't rate Halliday Warburton sees him as an important player in the squad so giving him game time is important.

thought we missed the drive of both windass and forrester in the second half.also I wish these dodgy plastic pitches were banned completely from our game before somebody gets a serious injury!!!

Get the lad out on loan to a good English lower league team, with a clause that he plays a decent amount of games. It's a difficult situation because the boy obviously has a lot of potential, but he isn't better than the players ahead of him.
