The margin of error on offside has to be much greater than 1cm.  For example a striker in full sprint recieving a pass, the difference of being on or off can come down to the video frame chosen.  The passers contact with the ball will occupy a few frames.

The time for “taking punts” is over, especially on guys who couldn’t buy a win managing games in League 1.
