RANGERS Football Club are today delighted to confirm the signing of Danilo Pereira Da Silva on a five-year deal from Feyenoord, subject to international clearance.
The striker becomes Michael Beale’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window as he joins the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Starting his career in Brazil, Danilo made the move to Holland and has featured for Ajax, FC Twente and Feyenoord.
The exciting forward has lifted the Eredivisie title twice, firstly with Ajax in 2021/22 and with Feyenoord last season.
Speaking after signing for Rangers, he said: “I’m super happy. I can’t wait to start playing at Ibrox in front of the supporters. I am so in love already with the club and I’m excited to be part of the Rangers team. It’s time to get to work and I hope that I can repay the love that they have shown to me.”
Manager Michael Beale commented: “Danilo is a player that I have personally been aware of since his time at Ajax. He had a breakthrough year on loan at FC Twente and then back at Ajax before joining Feyenoord last summer.
“He has won the Dutch title in both of the last two seasons and his goal per minute ratio is very good. He is an exciting player who likes to create and score goals, he is one that I believe is a good fit for our squad and he will give us another big option in the attacking areas of the pitch.
“The discussions were ongoing for some time, so I am delighted that we finally have him at our club. Danilo really wanted this move and has a strong belief in the plan that we have for him and for the team moving forward - this was key in the negotiations as he really pushed to join Rangers. We wish him every success here at Rangers.”

I’m guesstimating on all of this so others might be able to confirm if I’m reading all of this correctly?

So AGF won today 1-0 which gives them some form going into their game against Brugge.
Brugge got beat yesterday (again) 1-2 at home against AZ.
If AGF actually put Brugge out the conference league then we’re almost guaranteed the club world club place.
I think this is massive as surely that gives us at least another £10 million to spend on players outwith the 3 we’re trying to bring in?
Salzburg and Shakhter are next closest but they have their coefficient points already added as both have qualified to the CL Groups (Pot 3).
*So we can get 4 points added to our 38 if we qualify for the CL and 3 points added for the EL.
Essentially we could be sitting 9 points ahead of Salzburg and 10 against Shakhtar if we qualify for the CL.
Shakhtar would need to win at least 5 games in the CL groups to make up these 10 coefficient points (never going to happen) with us gaining zero points (hopefully not happen again).
Salzburg would need to win at least 6 games to get 10 points.
(The above doesn’t take in if either qualify for the last 16 which gives you 4 points and whatever you pick up in the tie)
I just can’t see any of these teams making up the 9 or 10 points in any real permutation from they two and us and all the matches that will play out.
That’s why I think we could spend more money this season if Brugge get put out. I don’t know how we could do it under FFP but surely it’s really a case of speculating to accumulate.
    Benfica 40.0
    Rangers 38.0 (*42 or 43)
    Brugge 35.0
    Salzburg 33.0
    Shakhtar 31.0

I'm in my 70's now and have been to see us in 2 European finals, Barcelona and Manchester, I watched on the television 2 other European finals, Nuremberg and Seville , I honestly think I'll not see us in another final again, hope I'm wrong.
Like most other people I knew Ramsey was going to miss his penalty, I just knew it. Kents miss still goes over in my mind all the time

Unforgettable night. It wasn't just the invincible feeling we had going into those games, it was the way that we swept those teams aside when we attacked them.
It felt quite fortunate in 08 to be in the final, it felt utterly deserved in 22.
Think it took about 6 months to get over the final tbh and I reckon it probably took the team something similar. Hope it's not the last European adventure for us.

I remember leaving Love St in the 80's after watching us lose 3 nil to St Mirren, that was a low point, in a period when we had the likes of Craig Paterson,Sandy Clark and Davie Mitchell. Yet i still never felt towards those guys what i do towards recent sqauds, they still somehow managed to wear that famous shirt with chests puffed out, with a showing of pride, they just were not that good and up against very strong Aberdeen Dundee Utd Savco sides. And even then they still managed to deliver silverware, and beat them. What lack of ability did not deliver pride and effort replaced it.  This current lot? Majority are not fit to wear that shirt.

We lost another great Bear on Friday, my Dad Jim Doc (Dok). The man who took me to the east enclosure for my first game at 5 years old.

Here is some pics of him in his younger days working at his favourite site.
