sairheid_bear got a reaction from HG5 in Farewell Josh Windass
A few more comments from Wigan fans. Some seem eerily familiar

The Rangers board sold him because they received an offer they couldn’t turn down. We offered about 1 million more than what Windass is worth, he’s a good player but not 2.5 million good.
...why McMannaman does not start ahead of Windass is beyond me.
Windass will be sold in January. He has no role to play at Latics.
I've given Windass a lot of benefit of the doubt and i accept he doesn't want to be on the right or today the left of midfield but he's just not done anywhere near enough to remotely suggest he is 2.5m worth of player or that he has much to offer even if we moved him to another area of the pitch. He's been a massive let down so far, if he wants to push his way into a more central role he's doing himself no favours.

A gift for Josh Windass and Darron Gibson after today. Not fair to pick on players but deary me, what were they doing out on that pitch ?

Dear "Family" if I may call you all family, excuse the title of the thread but it takes me back to the fateful day (v Kilmarnock just after liquidation was announced) and no doubt like many others I stood with tear filled eyes listening to that song being played thinking my god what has happened to my beloved Glasgow Rangers, well as you all know since then my own circumstances have been affected pretty badly by the horrible C word and I have had a pretty hellish time this past while. My second last visit to see my consultant didn't really go very well with the news that there had been a slight further spread in my bowel of the dreaded "C" well after more treatment and scans I returned (yesterday Friday) to see who I class is truly a very very special (rugby supporting) person and receive the news that the "Spread Has Stopped and The Worst PART has SHRUNK" by quite a bit. As I mentioned previously I hope with all my heart to return to Ibrox soon and there will be a scoreboard announcement saying "Falkirk BEAR is BACK" and I will sit quietly in my seat again yes no doubt with tears in my eyes saying to myself yes things are Alright. To you all my dear Rangers family I thank you all from the bottom of my heart just for caring and taking the time to send messages which you will never ever know just how much they meant to me these past months.??????????????????????

Really glad we have    for Sunday. There's a fantastic chance that he will produce some outstanding saves to deny them, if they get a penalty he has a very good record for that.

Save clicking troops, I took one for the team..
    =========================
When Steven Gerrard was unveiled at Ibrox many were quick to jump on his lack of experience in the dugout and suggest that he would struggle to turn Rangers around.
Well, three months on, the Liverpool icon must surely be making those people eat their words as his side look like an entirely different animal to the one that has huffed and puffed their way through the last two campaigns.
Gerrard's side have now negotiated eight competitive games unbeaten, including trips to Croatia, Slovenia and Macedonia, and are yet to fall behind at any point.
Throw in two early red cards for the Light Blues and it makes the job done by Gerrard and his coaching staff all the more remarkable.
While it is still very, very early in the season there are some real reasons for fans to be excited as Gerrard's revolution gathers pace and the Gers look much more likely to challenge celtic for the title than they have in a long time.
From back to front, there's a renewed confidence in the side that Gerrard sends out and run-of-the-mill games haven't had that same feeling that anything can happen as they had last season when Rangers recorded the club's worst home record in a century.
The one thing that has stood out more than anything else since Gerrard took charge is that with every passing game, Rangers get closer and closer to looking like a Walter Smith team.
Gone is the passing for passing's sake as well as the toothless attacks trying to score the perfect goal at every opportunity. In its place is a team of hardy b******* willing to run themselves into the ground and put their bodies on the line to secure a result. Under Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty, that wasn't evident and far too many of the squad seemed content to do enough to get by without ever excelling.
Despite claims that Gerrard looked "quietly terrified" of the job facing him, the 38-year-old has taken to management like a duck to water and proving exactly why Dave King, Mark Allen and co made their move to bring him north from Liverpool's academy.
Obviously, the trip to celtic Park on September 2 is going to be the real acid test for Gerrard's abilities as a manager but there's already a confidence amongst fans that has been in short supply over the last seven years.
It might be hubris and come back to bite us but for the first time in since Ally McCoist took charge of his first Old Firm game in 2011, it feels like the two sides are on a similar level.
It is far from all down to the apparent falling out between Brendan Rodgers and Peter Lawwell that has allowed Rangers to seemingly close the gap as much as it has this summer.
Some of the signings brought to Ibrox this summer have made a massive difference with Niko Katic, Connor Goldson and Allan McGregor in particular already winning widespread acclaim for their defensive performances while Scotty Arfield and Lassana Coulibaly have added some much-needed steel to a midfield that looked powderpuff more often than not last season.
Jon Flanagan has also made an impressive start to his Ibrox career and, alongside Borna Barisic, offers something much different at full-back.
Gerrard also hasn't been shy in giving young players a chance to shine and speaking to some of the Gers' coaching staff and players following Tuesday's Irn Bru Cup defeat at the hands of Falkirk for Graeme Murty's Colt side it is clear that Gerrard has left the door open for any of the academy youngsters to force their way into his plans.
With Gary McAllister, Mark Allen and the some of the Ibrox board taking in the narrow loss at Forthbank, it's clear they believe there's a bright future at Ibrox.
With Rangers 180 minutes away from the Europa League group stage and looking much more capable of standing up to the demands of a Premiership challenge, it is only a matter of time before title number 55 is heading for Edmiston Drive.
celtic fans might sing about Rodgers being here for 10-in-a-row but if I was them I'd be worried that he's going to be up to making it eight-in-a-row, never mind ten.

Getting a bye would be a great way to wind them up before the OF game and it would guarantee the group stage cash.
But it would feel like a shit way to qualify.

For a guy who's our third choice at left back he did well.
A limited player yes, but in a game like that where it's all about running and chasing to close them down he did all that was asked of him.

The Rangers gaffer said: “Wigan got to a number the board were happy with and the board put the decision in mine and Mark’s hands.
“I spoke to Josh this morning and asked him what he wanted to do and he made it clear he wanted to speak to Wigan.
“I wouldn’t stand in anyone’s way if they want to play for another team in their favourite position.
“Josh wants to be a number nine every game for Rangers and I couldn’t guarantee him that.”

So now he has a payoff from us and will probably now sign for a Portuguese diddy team and pocket a signing on fee there. I think he could rebuild his career back home and still make a decent living in an environment that suits him, some guys just aren’t mentally and physically strong enough for hammer throwing Scottish football. Which says more about Scottish football than foreign footballers.
