I recorded a documentary about Bill Shankly a while back and finally got round to watching it last night. 

Steven Gerrard is interviewed in and although he was at Liverpool well after Shankly’s time it’s obvious how much Stevie revered him, and I think there’s a wee bit of Shanks straight talking football man in the managerial style Stevie is developing.

Don't wait for half time for a bollocking….sort it before then.    Well said SG.   Because it sure sounds like it'll be a thorough bollocking if they don't get on to the pitch and perform as required right from the start.    Also, too nice in defence eh.  I bet that'll get knocked out of the defence soon enough.   

The Manager says what he means and means what he says.    The quicker the players respond positively to his messages the better for them.  Those who do and continue to respond to his message will get games.  Those who won't or can't will not get games.   It feels like a proper shakedown is going on to be left with the core of a first team that will have - and enjoy - and reap the benefit of - the responsibility of playing for Rangers under the leadership of SG.
