On the evidence so far we’d have better off keeping hold of Miller.

Morelos doesn't strike me as a player who wants a strike partner. He wants to be up top on his own and plays better that way. Regardless of the chances he misses he's the absolute focal point of the team and we're massively weakened without him. Will be difficult to replace him when he does move on and Defoe doesn't have the attributes to do it. Hopefully Defoes experience will be an asset off the pitch for our younger strikers to learn from, but a couple of goals against St Mirren certainly wouldn't go amiss either.

We saw this last season with Cummings, a small, penalty box striker does not suit the way we play. He might end up being a useful impact sub once he gets up to speed, but until then there's a big question mark over him for me.

This will hit them hard, they've had everything go their way for 2 years now and we've absolutely battered them today. This is the first time they've been under real pressure and I can see Rodgers cracking up and looking for an escape route.
No doubt they'll panic and make a 'high profile' signing in January to appease the hordes, but with a couple of smart signings of our own and a bit of newfound belief throughout the whole squad we've got a real chance this season.

He's finished at this level and will be put out to pasture soon. And even though they're a better side without him they'll miss his influence massively.
And hopefully Griffiths has topped himself after watching that, it would round the day off nicely.

Seems like every game he apparently reads the riot act to the players at half / full time. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference, I think a few of them were probably in awe of his celebrity status when he first joined, now thats worn off they've reverted back to the spineless don't-give-a-fuck wasters of the past few years.

Worrall will take the stick once again no doubt, but Goldson is a bombscare when he's the "senior" partner.
He needs Macauley beside him talking him through the game.

Wallace looked like a retiring player making a token appearance at his own testimonial today.
We're going to struggle at left back, Halliday for me is the best option we have, although he's physically powder puff and I think both hibs and the tarriers will target that position now.

Could be the lowest league winning points total in a long time this season, no side looks capable of going on a winning run and opening up a gap. We'll probably not get a better chance to be in the mix come the end of the season, provided we improve our attacking options in January.

I thought that was massively deflating tonight and I suspect the players might struggle to bounce back against Hamilton on Sunday.
Some of our players lack passion and heart no doubt, but too many of them lack an acceptable level of general ability with virtually no flair or attacking nous. That was a poor side we played tonight in an overall poor group and a huge opportunity thrown away.
Once again the underlying concern is that we only look dangerous when the opposition defence capitulates. If they show basic organisation and discipline we really struggle to create anything. And if Morelos goes through a goal drought then we're truly fucked.
There was a lot of talk of how big a month December was for us, going on a winning run and really setting us up for a good run at silverware in the new year. Now there's a real chance these players will down tools and the month and season will drift away into nothingness.
Gerrard faces a massive challenge now to solve some of our glaring problems, however there's a lot of football to be played before he can bring in reinforcements in January. Even then I dout we can afford the quality we need for anything other than a distant second place and cup disappointment in whatever round we end up playing the taigs.
