I'll never understand the mentality of someone that celebrates the club doing well by trying to get one over on other supporters with an "up ye" type post

nelsonRFC82 got a reaction from SteveEarle in Club urged SFA not to help Rangers in 2008
The season was not extended, the last game was the Scottish cup final and played on it's original scheduled date. The league did finish 4 days later than planned but the only alternative to that would have been for us to play Sat, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun...given celtic complained about the delayed finish I guess that was their preferred solution!
If they did extend the season by delaying the Scottish Cup Final it would have freed up another weekend for league business, as it was we played our final 3 league games in 6 days, dropping 5 points and losing league by 3!

Thanks I stand correct, I didn't realise it was due to a delay. Questions should be asked about Peter Lawwell's claim that celtic had a Japan tour scheduled, as that ultimately stopped an adequate extension. The whole of Scottish football was robbed with Lawwell's lie.

That's the logical conclusion. Let's hope the club agree

Definitely seems worth a trip to the collection point on the day, surely there preference would be to sell any spares to Bears than force us to go on the look out for tickets in the home end. That's my plan anyway!

Aye they are still letting folk sign up. I did not however.
My mate who I am going with did not renew his season ticket as he was away travelling. Therefore he cannot sign up. So he cannot buy a ticket. So rather than go with 1 of us having a ticket and the other no ticket we will just take our chances over there.
Thanks for those who posted up info. We will head down to where they are dishing them out on the day and chance it again.

The cancellation of the Gretna game was a strange move...however given the SPFL currently allow you to cancel games to play "high-profile pre-season" friendlies (a pre-season game after the season has started!)...or at least did for celtic recently. Bizarre is what they do best!

Some rapid cycling mood swings on this forum. From “going to sweep all before us “, to “totally shite” and back again. Time to knuckle down, we are an improving work in progress side, going in the right direction, no more, no less.

nelsonRFC82 reacted to eskbankloyal in We’re still scared of them
Can’t underestimate this. Certain players, who played today, had to be treated for severe dehydration after the game in Russia. They were running on empty & today proved to be a step too far sadly.
That being said, thought our set up was all wrong from the start & things weren’t changed quickly enough.
Ejaria then fails to bring rogic down of track Ntcham. That’s what happens when you have a development player playing. If that’s Jack/Arfield/Coulibaly/Dorrans Rogic is brought down and they take the yellow card.
Our next run of fixtures are all very winnable. Time to revisit then.

That performance had Walter Smith all over it...we already know he uses Wattie as a sounding board.
How many times during Walters tenure did we watch us get "hammered" and come away with a 1-0 win?
Don't think I'm going to lose too much sleep over a game that could just as easily have gone that way bar a ropy refereeing decision (and a rookie midfielder switching off and letting Ntcham walk into space behind him to score)...especially when you consider the Thursday game, the circumstances and the travel....throw in this was 8 of the teams first ever OF game and we were without what could be (on another day) a first choice midfield in Coulibally, Rossiter, Dorrans and Murphy and also the managers first game.
We lost 1-0 in the type of game Walter often walked away with a 1-0. What we need from that is the lessons to be learned. We've an international break which really couldn't come at a better time...recharge, refocus and look at where and what to improve. Sometimes you need a set-back to check you and set you straight...after 12 without loss at the start of your managerial career it may have seemed this is an easy lark to get into...well now he'll know different, and he'll know even more so now what it means to Rangers fans to beat them. You can see the resilience in this team, a resilience we've been crying out for for years, now it needs to be backed up with progress towards the other end of the pitch.
Like I said, not losing too much sleep over that yesterday, because I've witnessed much progress over the last few months, but this is a test in our fledgling manager's tenure and I'm sure, given his nature, and with the advice of those around him, that lessons will be learnt and built on. If not, the road only gets rockier from here on.

From playing league games against the likes of Annan and Elgin to qualifying for the Europa league, the only one who's been there through it all.
Even though he was on the bench glad he was there tonight.
