Just had a PM from a Mod telling me that @GabrielTomato received an email from Rangers asking him to remove the other thread and in return they’d send him a ‘China’ strip with Blue Shorts.

Not a fan of his anyway but I don’t understand why anyone would have a go at him for leaving.
A longer contract on more money (could be the last contact of his career), and probably been given more assurances of playing regularly than he would’ve got here.
The replacement players are still pretty questionable at this stage but that’s the kind of decisions that will either make or break Gerrard and the success he has here.

Defo don’t think he deserved his Rangers career to end the way it has, candeias never let us down and contributed a lot last year compared to others like lafferty who done fuck all
also leaving him out that euro squad was a slap in the face from Gerrard, imo hastie is nowhere near as good as him yet and since he just joined the club he should have been the one to sit out this year
at the end of the day Gerrard is our leader and these are his decisions so we back him but I’m surprised the way this ended and if I was Daniel I’d have probs have done the same an got out now

What a job you have done with your fund raising over the last few years GB but as many have said your health now has to come first.
I should add (for RM members who have not seen you for a wee while) the last time we met up at the Bravehound dog show, last month, you were looking much better than at the end of last season, but I know you still have further to go and this decision with the fund is right one for you.
Having been involved with your fund raisers for a while now it has really been a pleasure old chap.
Now ffs behave yourself and get your health sorted as best you can.

I'm especially grateful for you sorting out my stepson with Rangers gear that he still wears with Pride.
I hope you continue to post and I'm certainly hoping your health improves. Your a tremendous example of what it is to be a Bear.

No it’s not a clickbait title- for once!

So after 6 years of fundraising, I’ve finally decided that it’s finally time for me to finally hang up my gloves, and finally start to draw the curtain down on my overly-long involvement in what was actually only supposed to be a one-off fundraiser.   There are lots of random, unrelated and non-controversial reasons behind my decision, the main one being health-related, so that’s the end of that discussion!
I’m sure many of you will be delighted at the news of my retirement, because let’s face it, I’m an annoying cunt, even on a good day.
What I don’t want to do though, is leave either Erskine or the many Loyal Fund Members suddenly in the lurch, so I have hopefully come up with a workable exit strategy…
We have already just recently paid £2500 for 10 Erskine & Combat Stress Season tickets renewals  for the coming season, and we still have a few hundred quid left in the bank to cover Europa and Cup tickets for the next couple of months, plus our previously promised donation to Bravehound, so we’re good for a while.
We will shortly launch the RM Erskine Fund 2019/20 New Season Membership/Donations thread just as we had planned to do.  But this time, it will run only for about one month, giving any members who wish to continue their support into next season an opportunity to do so. After which, we will stop accepting donations into the current Fund account.
The money raised from that fundraiser, added to the money that we already hold in reserve, should mean that we will have enough money to maintain our spending for the rest of this season (albeit on a reduced budget), and also still hold enough money in reserve to pay for next season’s season tickets, which will be approx £2500 and will be due in May 2020, which means we will be providing continued support using just our existing (plus next month's) resources, until May 2021, which I think is not a bad exit strategy.
Of course, that’s using just our existing (plus next month’s) resources.  After I end my fundraising involvement, it doesn't mean that other Members can’t keep things going in all sorts of ways – it just means donations won’t go through my bank account, so you’ll need to work something out yourselves for that side of things.  (off the top of my head, I can think of loads of options, so it shouldn't be too hard to come up with some fully workable ideas).  I will of course be fully available to the Fund in an offline advisory capacity for as long as my input is needed.
So may I take this opportunity to thank Everyone who has so wholeheartedly supported our efforts over those many years.  I only made the outlandish demands I made, because I knew there were People like you there to meet them. And together, I think we made enough of a difference for it to have been ultimately worthwhile.

So there you go – that’s the plan.  Keep your eye out for the season 19/20 Membership Fundraiser thread which will be along soon, and let’s make it a good one.
Oh and don't forget, you've got a Dug to feed too!

Fantastic player and great captain, in an age where the ball, boots and pitches were a lot heavier than today.
Proper tackles with no quarter given, yet pals after the game.
It's  great being old, us oldies have lots of fantastic memories.

A COLLECTION of 21 medals belonging to Ibrox legend and former Rangerscaptain, Bobby Shearer, has gone to auction in Glasgow.
The haul, which was sold by the family of the late player, covers the period 1955 to 1965 and is believed to be the largest set of Rangers medals to feature in a single auction.
Amongst the items that went under the hammer were the ex-skipper's League Cup and League Championship medals from Rangers momentous treble winning 1963/64 season, which fetched £2,600 and £1,900 respectively at McTear’s Sporting Medals and Trophies Auction.

In addition, the sale also included the player’s finalist medal from the European Cup Winner’s Cup in 1961, which Rangers lost over two legs to Fiorentina.  The lot sold for £2,700 on the day.
Bobby’s wife, Helen Shearer, said: “I wasn’t a big football fan but I enjoyed going to the games to support Robert.
"He loved playing for Rangers and was very well respected by all the players.  He was tough on the pitch but always fair.

“He had lots of football friends, including a lot of folk at celtic. Robert was lucky enough to play with and against many great players who became close friends.
"He was honoured to become the captain of Rangers Football Club and captained the treble winning team in 1963/64."
“There are a lot of lovely memories tied in to the collection, and the family have kept a few medals, but to be honest I thought the time was right for the others to come out of their boxes and to be passed on to  football fans who will treasure them.”
Nicknamed Captain Cutlass due to his combative playing style, Bobby Shearer played right back for Rangers in 407 games between 1955 and 1965.
During his time at Ibrox he won five league titles, three Scottish Cups and four League Cups, and also played four times for Scotland.
He passed away on November 6, 2006, aged 74.
Brian Clements from McTear’s, said: “Bobby Shearer was a true Rangers legend who picked up every honour going in the Scottish game, including a treble haul of medals in season 1963/64.
“We see a lot of Old Firm medals coming through the doors at McTear’s but this was by far the largest collection associated with a single player.
"There were some fantastic individual pieces which resulted in a lot of interest from football fans across the country.”

In addition to the Rangers items, the Bobby Shearer collection also included medals from the player’s time in the RAF in the early fifties.
His wife Helen added: “Wherever Robert was posted he would play football.
"When he was in the north of Scotland he won a tournament with Inverness Thistle and he also won a medal playing for the Royal Air Force Football Association.”

@Thermopylae I don't believe for one minute no one would notice Steven Gerrard winning Rangers title 55 after what we have been through.  Our story alone, despite Gerrard being Manager, will be a massive headliner even in the English Media. Scottish Media are a big joke, as are Scottish football and the SPL. Rangers certainly are not. Unlucky due to the SPL clowns running the circus here, but we are turning it around little by little.

    Dont really care.
He wins us 55 and I'll be eternally grateful, regardless of what anyone thinks of the reality of the game here, competition etc
I think it would be given recognition given the financial strength the scum have over us.
But that's all for another day.  It's a moot point unless he wins us the league, and imo that's what he's here to do and will succeed.

We can all laugh and be faux offended but see to be honest it is starting to get beyond a joke. They are making our brand seem less important than them over the city. Neutral people actually watch/read BBC and when headlines are always negative about us and positive about them then people do tend to believe it  because it mostly goes unchallenged. We should be complaining about it because as the OP said they are supposed to be neutral.
