There are so many positives from Gio’s arrival but, in my opinion, the main benefits are:
1. He’s getting players going again who had lost their way at Ibrox, especially Barisic and Morelos. Almost like new signings.
2. He’s stopped fannying about with the defence. If they are fit, the back five pick themselves. That builds trust and confidence which had been sadly lacking. No harm to McLaughlin but rotating goalkeepers for the sake of it was stupid and the resultant miscommunication cost us.
3. He has a preferred structure but he is not obsessive. Our opponents went from a back three to a back four to try to get back into the game second half. Gio spotted it, made a switch of his own, problem solved. Gerrard was extremely reluctant to deviate once team was set up.
4. He doesn’t appear to have favourites. He will bring in or drop players based on the needs of the team. (Having said that, on current form, Hagi must be due a spell out of the team soon.)
5. His change to the role of the full backs has meant that the defence is significantly more solid. Gerrard pushed them so far forward, that we needed a couple of CDMs to provide cover whereas now the width is provided by Kent and Wright hugging the touchline and there is less pressure on Tav and Borna to play like wingers quite so often. This means that only Kamara was needed as CDM and our midfield can include more attacking players like Aribo and Arfield.
6. There seems to be a sense of joy around the place again. Don’t know whether the players sensed that Gerrard was just waiting for an acceptable offer or if they’d tired of his voice but they seem to be enjoying their football again.
Overall, Gerrard leaving was the best thing that could have happened to us although he handled it really poorly. If we don’t get overrun with Covid, suspensions, transfer departures or injuries, we will win this league regardless of who is brought in across the city.
In Gio we trust 

We’ve scored more goals and only conceded a handful more, yet in the press free flowing celtic are the new Barca 09 and we’re an utter disgrace at the back. They’ve unearthed the next goal scoring sensation in the diver but he’s scored the same amount of goals as Morelos with no assists, and apparently Alfie’s been rank this season. It’s all about perception. The yahoos pal’s in the media have set the narrative that they’re an unstoppable attacking juggernaut and we’re stuttering and struggling, yet they’re still 6 points behind. 

Aye, I can’t argue with that. SAF probably would’ve went to town. Maybe it would have been good to hear that, now I think about it.

To be fair, in situations like this you should ask yourself, what would Walter have said?
I don’t think he would’ve come out all guns blazing either.

Yeah, I’m along the same lines. As much as it would’ve been satisfying initially, if the board had come out and said the bheasts are just trying to get this postponed for their own devious reasons we would’ve looked petty.
Everyone knows why they wanted the postponement brought forward so I don’t think it would’ve done anything to our cause to just fire shots across.
I imagine that at the levels the Board operate at they will have voiced their displeasure and cynicism. I don’t think it would’ve looked good to start mouthing off to us plebs and start mud slinging.

People need to forget them and concentrate on how we are playing. For their sanity if nothing else.

See, I just remember the Leverkusen game a few years ago and my impression was we tried to go toe-to-toe but they were a better team and we’re more clinical.
I appreciate the desire to take the game to them but sometimes it’s better to play a bit smarter and a bit more defensively (I’m not talking 10 men behind the ball here, BTW) and then taking full advantage of a packed Ibrox?
