Tarriers can win it if they want. It’s the league cup I’ll stick with the League title and Europe.
I’m astounded at how big the league cup in this country has become in all honesty seems to be up their now with the Champions League over the last few years.

Wish Gerrard left a week earlier so we had Gio for the semi final

Thought this for a while while Gerrard was still here, it was good that we kept top of the table despite playing shit and we could've been ahead more but I took that as a good thing, that we were playing poor getting results and staying top. Because what my old man said is when things click and we go back to great form, we'll be untouchable by the other sides in the league.
and since Gio came in am inclined to believe that, Morelos is back to scoring, Kent and Aribo are absolutely fire. Tactically seem to be tight too with a nice balance to the defence which is actually defended now and not shipping silly goals.
Just about the half way point and things are looking really positive bears!

I think Gio is an updrade. Slight tweaks in formation and tactics, but the biggest change is in attitude, application and belief. Watching Villa yesterday was much like watching the last few Gerrard matches at Ibrox.

GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST
More tactically astute than any manager or coach in the country. That’s a fucking brilliant management performance.
+ 5 consecutive wins
+ 100% domestic record
+ 9 goals scored, 1 goal conceded
+ 7 points clear after wins away to Livingston, Hibs and a convincing Hearts team that were flying (we kept the zero)

Its only 3 weeks since the Hampden Debacle, but it feels a lifetime away

Wins the league in Scotland going unbeaten but realises he has limitations so takes the easy option by joining Aston Villa competing in the best league in the world. Not for me.
I sincerely hope the positive impact Gio has had continues but it’s very early days and as Scott Arfield pointed out at the press conference, teams tend to get an intitial boost when new managers come in the world over. He also pointed out the same thing has happened to Villa with the appointment of SG with all his limitations.

Team is set up for players to do the job the position requires first and foremost. Full backs aren’t as gung-ho all the time and are being defenders, kamara is athletic enough to be the only sitting midfielder instead of 2 or 3 in there which is giving arfield and even more so aribo a more free role to get forward. Morelos not playing so deep and our wingers are causing problems with their pace. We look a well oiled machine under gio and we’ll only get stronger the more he coaches us and we get the likes of helander back from injury. I’m delighted by his start and enjoying watching us again.

Not much activity on this thread for what is possibly the trickiest fixture on the run up to the new year. A real test but Gio will play his cards right and get the three points.

And Hearts will be pumped up. I was at the cup defeat when we were shocking. Will take a 1-0 for this and confident we will get the 3 points.

Yep, that was a proper pea souper that night, I'm sure I couldn't even see the Govan from the East Enclosure at one point
Ray was a class act both on and off the pitch, sadly missed.
