I never had the pleasure of meeting unfortunately but spoke to him at length a few times on here. I'm glad I dug out the DWS programme for him a couple of weeks back.
One abiding memory of him was he was very proud to have attended nearly all Rangers European finals bar 1967 against Bayern. His answer, which i've always assumed to be a wind up, was his Dad couldn't take him to Nuremburg because he was afraid he would be tried for war crimes

The man was a giant among men, he never ever ducked me when i was in his company, thanks to Tam( moody blue legend) i was priviledged to meet this big fella.he knew iain ferguson( early 80s) was my favourite ever Rangers player, when we had a meet, he surely had been in his company that day and told me every detail, i hung on his every word, every story he told about Rangers players past and present.a true blue but first and foremost like our Tam, a fuckin gentleman.we were being audited by tesco today, approval of supply, a big deal, but i had my wee half hour in tears in the toilet,crying and mourning the passing of one of our own, never forget you big man , and how you always made a beeline for me to talk to.im gonna miss you forever big yin.

Accept your repeated fuck ups when it comes to attacking players with no valid reason and then we can all move on

Gerrard (especially last Thursday) was the perfect platform for the media.  A great story.  BBC chiefs in London will be raging that they didn't get a bit of that pie.  No surprise here really.  Delighted our club stood firm on that prick though.
