  1. Was just looking at how much our coefficient has improved and noticed every team we played in this run are there or above us.

    Red Star = 36th

    Braga = 35th

    Rangers = 33rd

    Frankfurt = 26th

    Dortmund - 19th

    Leipzig = 13th

    We've competed at a hell of a level. Our coefficient can only improve next season as well as we will be losing the 0.250 points from the disaster Progres game under Pedro.

    Weird for me because I never would have dreamed I'd see us in another European final. Now, I'm already thinking we'll make another one :lol:

    This is it we cannot continue with players who although good players do not have the level of fitness to play a full season.

    I think there's a few players that have the quality worth the risk of niggles.

    The problem is we have so many of them. Jack, Roofe, Helander, Balogun (to a degree). We then signed Ramsey and have another in Souttar comign in. We can't carry 5-6 players that are going to miss a big chunk of games. We suffered two bad injuries in Hagi and Morelos as well on top of that. It just stretches the rest of the squad too thin and risks losing them to injury as well.

    Roofe is a player that I think possesses so much quality but it's clear that we are never going to get a 12-15 game run out of him.

  3. I'm sure the board said the run in the Europa League has been worth more than reaching the Champions League groups. Granted we've settled the SD case but this board have to dip their hands in their pockets this summer.

    Aribo, Morelos and Kent. Here's your contract offer, sign or sell. We can't lose any of those for nothing.

    If we invest cash in the right areas and the right players we make it back when we qualify for Champions League. It's not a guarantee but group stage football is. I think not going out and signing the likes of Veerman cost us big this season, we have to learn from those mistakes.

    I know a while back there was talk that Aribo was off to Palace so I'm not sure if that's still the case now but I'd hope we can convince 1 or 2 of those 3 to stay.

    Either way, we are obviously losing Goldson and I think 2 of Aribo, Morelos, Kent and Kamara.

    Huge summer.

    I thought he was awful tonight. Like truly dreadful. Constantly stood off his man and gave them far too much space, played the safe pass pretty much every time he got the ball and looked like he was shit scared to drive forward. The one time he got forward he had a shot which was a decent chance, but the full backs were always going to be key for us and he didn’t do anywhere near enough to try and influence the game.

    I don't think he was awful. I think the safe pass is fair though and I think quite a few were guilty of it. The opposite to that was that they nullified our threats very well. You saw them press the full backs instantly and Tav got caught out with this a few times.

    Borna made two outstanding blocks from crosses I thought but overall was one of many that weren't at their best.

    Think some of our subs were a bit strange but I don't think any of the players or management gave anything less than 100%.

    Spot on.

    Barisic is a shitebag for letting his marker get infront of him at the dump, Bassey does the same? It's Goldsons fault..

    I thought 4 players could have done a lot better for the goal. Wright can do better in blocking the cross. Goldson is the free man and I would expect someone of his quality to be anticipating where that ball is going and mop it up with very little issue. It's Bassey's man at the end of the day and he can do better but Borre is top quality and it's fantastic movement and invention from him to get something on. Lastly, only seen it back the once as it's a killer but looked from behind the goals like McGregor maybe could have stopped it but I think I'll stop short on putting blame at his door for that.

    Bassey was a monster all night and it's taken me a while to be convinced but his potential is massive. Goldson was fine but had a few moments I think he'd like to do over. I saw people blaming him for the long punts but I just think they set up against us so well that we rarely had much else on.

  6. I'm just deflated.

    I think it being within touching distance makes it so much harder. We had the lead and we gave it away very cheaply. We then miss an absolute sitter to win it in Extra Time.

    It just felt like it was our time, I really thought we were destined to win it.

    I won't blame any of the players though, I think a few were below par but every single one of them showed the committment and bravery required and penalties is an absolute lottery. I fancied us going into the pens as Shagger is a quality penalty stopper but didn't have much chance, they took 5 top class pens.

    Ramsey pen wasn't great but if keeper goes other way it looks cool and composed. Felt for him as well, it may not have worked out as we hoped with Ramsey but I think he gets it at Rangers and could tell he was destroyed by that.

    It was winnable, that's what always keeps popping up in my head when I just start thinking I've turned a corner of being numb and it all comes right back.

    We have to go and win the Scottish Cup now. 100%.

    I'm also a lot more optimistic about our chances in Europe next season. Two qualifying rounds seeded. Had a quick look last night and although it wouldn't be easy, it could be something like Sturm Graz followed by Dynamo Kiev. Two ties we could win.

  7. I think their levels will drop next season as well. I find it crazy teams like Hearts at this stage of the season are camping their own box after the early goal.

    I think they'll drop a few points against the shite teams away from home next season but we need to make sure we aren't doing the same.

    We've definitely seen that whenever they come up against a good side (bar the 3-0 which Gio got wrong) that they come unstuck.

  8. Ramsey is an elite level player and someone that I'd love to get back permanently if it were possible. I know some aren't convinced but off the ball he creates so much room for other players and that timing late into the box he has will net him a lot of goals if he can stay fit.

    That said, with his injury record, it would be a big risk to try and pull it off.

    Shame, I'm glad he came and we got to see a big name in a Rangers shirt but like others, I'd be surprised if he makes another appearance.

    I think he's the type of player that understands how big the club is and could be a big help for the current team as well as the future.

  9. I'd be fine if he signs a new deal but I won't be gutted if he leaves for more money. Deserves all the praise for some massive moments but he still drives me insane when he's under any sort of pressure. He panics but not in the I better clear it way, it just seems to make him lose the ability to do anything at speed. Almost got caught a couple of times today and has done plenty of times in the season.

    My only fear is if he goes, we absolutely have to have a contingency. We need to sign some quality because he won't be easy to replace. I certainly don't think Bassey can be centre back long term, again, I love him but he gives up 2 dangerous chances a game it seems 😂

    Tldr - I hope we can come to agreement with Goldson but wouldn't be prepared to make him one of the highest paid players at the club.

    Great performance. Everyone gave their all.

    More Mclaughlin please. What a difference with keeper who can catch cross and pass. Less pressure on defenders.

    I've said for so long, he's not as good as McGregor for saving chances but he will come for balls and the difference he makes at the back as an extra body to pass to is insane. Helps us start attacks and against them, beat the press. I'm happy with Greggs for the end of the season but McLaughlin should play the last Old Firm.

  11. So far feels a bit like the days when we first started to look good again. We would play well against them but not get the result.

    Been immense in the press but we've got to take a chance. They are pulling a lot of players back during out attacks and looking for that long ball to Jota/Maeda to get them out of trouble.

    Hopefully get the ball down the left hand side a bit more as well.
