Wasn't pretty for the majority of the game but we got the result and we're finally top of the league again.
I thought Sterling for Wright was a great sub in the end up. He missed a good chance and made an arse of a potential chance but Sterling looked so much better than Wright. Works harder, links up better and was getting into good positions than Wright ever was and effictevely got us a penalty on his own.
We welcome the chase and on to Hearts...

See this pish "he's been through it before" it's one of the biggest myths they peddle, and there is quite a few.
He had two seasons up against the worst top flight Rangers team since at least the 80s, but arguably ever, and 3 quarters of a season up against us in a transition year with Gerrard. He also got a head start this year coming up against an imbecile like Beale while being in charge of the current treble holders.
Talking of Beale his record against the rest of the teams in our league this season (in all comps) was 5-0-2 (71.4%) and rodgers this season against the rest is 18-5-3 (69.2%).
The guy has never had a proper challenge while being manager of celtic and left while we were just putting in the building blocks.
Unfortunately he's had the indian sign over us in H2Hs but there has been mitigating circumstances for that especially in his first spell.
When it comes to facing the rest in the top flight he's actually got a strangely similar record to Gerrard. In the league rodgers has won 88, drew 20 and lost 9 (75.3%) compared to Gerrard who won 78, drew 21 and lost 9 (73.9%). When you consider where Gerrard picked us up in 2018 and where rodgers picked up celtic in 2016 & last summer it doesnt look too impressive.
A wee strange fact is that their record against the rest is exactly the same at 21 wins, 9 draws and 4 defeats in rodgers' second season and Gerrard's first - both back to back seasons - wrong time, wrong place for us.
I only compare with Gerrard because it was a sliding door moment with "Rangers are coming", him fucking off and the amount of time both managed each club. You can also offset Gerrard's poor cup performances with good european performances and vice-versa for rodgers. Gerrard is also the only manager we've had since 2016 to have any kind of respectable record against celtic.
He's been through fuck all and will be coming through fuck all this season.

It's definetely something we can improve on but it's not a huge problem. Under Clement our coversion rate is 10.3% compared to celtic's which is 10.1%.
Last night we actually under performed our average conversion under Clement and it was the third worse conversion rate with him as manager with only Pittodrie and Tynecastle being the worst.
Also of it's any comfort our conversion rate last night was actually better than celtic's against Aberdeen and Ross County. They also vastly over performed their ratio due to two penalties against Hibs.
I'd be a lot more worried if we weren't creating chances at all.

I think a lot of it comes from earlier in the season because he was unfit, lazy and didn't look interested.
However now he's in good shape, works hard, gets involved deep (sometimes may be good, sometimes may be shit) and is getting his rewards in front of goal and it has been sustained since Danilo got injured.
We've stumbled upon a 20-25 goal player from thinking he was one of the worst we've ever signed. It's just a shame we don't have another one to back him up though I think Silva with more games will contribute.

If Dessers scored the ‘sitters’ folk continually harp on about on here, his stats under Clement would be absolutely insane.
Guy needs to be given some credit.
Yes, he can blow hot and cold and can spurn easiest chances  but some of the goals he’s scored have been exceptionally well crafted.

Dessers hasn't really been a hinderence in us getting level with celtic, in fact he's been one of the biggest contributors along with Tav and Sima.
A bigger gripe should be goals from elsewhere though Matondo and Cantwell are doing their bit to correct that and I'll be surprised if we dont see more from Silva and Cortes on that front.
All strikers will have games like tonight where they miss chances but still get 2 important goals and have a game like St Mirren where they get 1 chance and score it
Since PC came in he's had 908 minutes in the league and scored 9 goals (1 every 101 minutes). For reference, he's starting to get to Colak levels of just getting the goals.  Colak before his injury had 1055 minutes scoring 10 goals (1 every 105 minutes). We've got Dessers on a run where he scores 2 goals every 3 matches.
He's also getting important goals. His two goals against Hibs and the one at Dens were scored when the game was done but he got the opener against Livi and St Johnstone, got the equaliser against Dundee at home, got the winner against St Mirren and put us up twice tonight.
He's not the most convincing guy but he's been doing a pretty reliable job up there since PC came in and certainly since Danilo got his injury.
