He didn't really though, did he.

He was always going to get tagged by Froch at least 1 or 2 times during this fight. Folks problem is as soon as he showed the merest hint of being rocked the ref jumped in and it was stopped. The referee jumped in at such a key moment it isn't obvious what was about to happen. Groves didn't appear to be as hurt as the referee must of felt he was going by how steady legged and clear headed he appeared moments later when reacting to the stoppage.

Very, very few people not connected with Froch or the BBBoC are saying anything otherwise.

As said before, it's not exactly an infrequent occurrence to see guys in a far more trouble than what Groves appeared to be, weather the storm, and make it further into the fight. It happens in every few boxing matches.

Agreed.

Froch might have been about to finish him, but Groves equally might have recovered; we just don't know and the referee robbed the fans and both fighters of a definitive ending to the fight.

It's funny, Froch says Groves blew his chance so he doesn't deserve a rematch, and in the next sentence Froch says he should get a rematch with Ward.

And damn right Hearn wants to do the rematch, PPV numbers for Froch-Groves were supposedly around 350k.

Feel sorry for Barker, but on the plus side Eddie got him a very sound deal; he got paid well to the point that he's set for life should he retire now, and if he does decide to come back then he's got a rematch clause with Sturm.

Glad Burns-Crawford is in Glasgow, Ricky will need every advantage he can against this guy.
