barrymorrison1 1,033
I've said before on here, but my friends son is the goalie. Nicky Hogarth. She was waxing lyrical on FB yesterday about the result. Her youngest son plays for Rangers as well in goals, in another age group. Jay Hogarth. Talented young boys, who are great kids to boot. Muirheadbear 1,483
Seen and heard it all before. However it all goes wrong around the 16-17 yr old mark. We seem to be around the standard of most countries but then they do not kick on either technically or physically. Our whole football coaching and football cultural outlook needs radically reviewed and improved.Sorry if this comes across as negative but last week's under 21 game still rings very loud alarm bellsScotland 1 Netherlands 6!! Our whole football coaching and football cultural outlook needs radically reviewed and improved.Sorry if this comes across as negative but last week's under 21 game still rings very loud alarm bellsScotland 1 Netherlands 6!!A sensible post - Muirheadbear's account has been hacked??? How can we take talented kids and turn them into 'donkeys' in such a short space of time?? We, every club in Scotland, seems determined to stifle natural talent in favour of turning the kids into robots. very odd.Interesting speaking to Dutch guys that they have little (if any) hope of making any impact in this World Cup yet have great hopes for the next batch of kids coming through. Contrast with Scotland -- no hopers now and no hope for the future - pretty sad.
Gaffbear 4,106
Young Bears proving the youths are there.Amazing talent all the way to the top then they enter the Ally Triangle where they mysteriously vanish.
Muirheadbear 1,483
It's not just Rangers - it's every club in Scotland. The continentals continue to develop from the age of 17 to 21 and race away from the standards we set. Why the fuck does Ally get it for everything? Jimfanciesthedude 25,043
i said it a while ago on here, when george adams was in charge of our youth development he made the kids play against players older than themthe 14's would play 16's, the 17's would play 19's, he especially focused this idea on the most talented youngsters, some 17 and 18yo's were stars in the reserveshe done this to acclimatise the boys with playing against guys older and more physically developed than them, this meant the young bears had to both grow up fast and learn to take the hard stuff, but to also develop technically so that they could out fox brute forcesurprisingly the george adams reign was the best we'eve ever had in terms of developing youth
