The New Era 339
I got a ticket at the last minute and watched the game from the Edmiston Road End which was a new experience for me.My mates lost shoes on the stairwell and I still have the front page of the Sunday People showing them on the running track after the match ended. After the match I remember the stop press news saying that there were six dead. I headed for the Bay Horse on West Nile street and got home at 7pm much to the relief of my Mother.I exited stairwell 13 on hundreds of occasions and crushing was a regular experience as the two sheds merged.Sadly, this was an accident that was waiting to happen.RIP those who perished that day.
