Warburton Linked To Fulham, But Has Had Talks With King!

Pity if true, but it would have been surprising if there wasn't competition from the likes of the Championship for Warburton, given his recent record.

And to be fair, it wouldn't have been right to just give him the job quickly incase competition appears.

Interesting read in the herald.

The more I hear what he has to say the better he seems to fit the bill. The title of the article is a bit misleading but hopefully he has his sights on the Rangers project following the incomplete journey.

Daily-Record-Warburton.jpg Tug o' War: Mark Warburton

Mark Warburton has denied claims he is in talks with Fulham over replacing Kit Symons as manager at Craven Cottage.

The former Brentford boss is overwhelming favourite to take over at Glasgow Rangers but recent reports have muddied the water in that respect.

However, the 52-year-old has insisted he is not speaking to the Whites over the job and believes it to be disrespectful to Kit Symons.

He told GetWestLondon : I find these reports disrespectful. There's no truth in them whatsoever.

Kit Symons has done a fantastic job at Fulham and I'm disappointed to see these allegations. I have not spoken to Fulham at all.

Warburton and assistant David Weir have been highly touted for several jobs around the country after the work they did at Brentford.

After replacing Uwe Rosler, who left for Wigan, in December 2014 the pair guided the Bees to promotion from League One for the first time since 1992.

In their first season in the Championship, they defied all expectations and finished fifth before losing 5-1 on aggregate to Middlesbrough in the play-off semi finals.

This was despite the club announcing in February that the duo would leave the club at the end of the season after disagreeing with owner Matthew Benham on the way the club was moving forward and the Bees have subsequently appointed Marinus Dijkhuizen.

Fulham, on the other hand, suffered their worst season in over a decade. After relegation from the Premier League under Felix Magath they suffered an awful start before sacking the German in September.

Symons steadied the ship as caretaker before being handed the reins on a full-time basis and he ensured the Whites stayed in the Championship but fans were unhappy at the manner of which it was secured leaving him under pressure.

Daily Record in getting it wrong shocker!

If the board weren't in a rush then last Monday/Tuesday, once championship football was confirmed, they should have advertised job and then selected best applicant..

I honestly dont think they have any idea what they are doing..

Paul Murray is fucking useless, King, to me, doesn't seem like he knows a lot about football, so who exactly is involved in decision making?

Although I do share others concerns that we may lose out on Warburton and weir to what appears to be the inability of the board to make an effective decision we should not forget Fulham have effectively had a new manager every season over the past few years. A fact which I am sure will not have escaped the men in question.

Warburton in papers today saying he's itching to get started on a project. Likes small squads, youthful focus, and possession play and pressing.

Says pre season is crucial.

Transfer window open today.

He is telling King now is the time, to delay is harmful.

If its not done by weekend I think he'll walk away.

And Mccall will be rolled out as the saviour. Again.

Keith Jackson is full of it, Fulham are unlikely to comment as their fans seem in disarray over their chairmans plans to keep kit symons only for this story to come out. If there is any truth in the link it will be that the agent has set the bait for an idiot like Jackson to pick up and run with it so that any haggling points in the offer go in favour of the agent and warburton.

Pretty much my thinking as well.
