That wee welcome yesterday gives me the most sneaking of feelings that this is destined for failure of mowbary proportions

I hope I am right

This,  it all seemed very Robbie Keane and we all know what happened that year.

Will be interesting to see what his budget will be.. I thought tge Bankier (sp?) interview was quite telling.. He said something along the lines of.. 'There is undoubted talent in the squad judging by the Motherwell game..' - sounds a bit like.. We spent all our cash on Brendan and he will make the current team great without spending lots.

Previous for shagging a ladybhoy

His son was up on a rape charge.

His brother is in and out of Holywell, a mental health hospital in Northern Ireland.

It's as well Brendy has no baggage, as it wouldn't be like rival fans in Scottish football to bring up such things

If fans do bring these things up, it will need to be in an over-exuberant manner. Wouldn't want to get into trouble.

He's a good appointment, one of their own and has the high profile they crave. However everything about it suggests desperation and underlying issues.

I think this season will hold so much pressure for IRAceltic and Brendan as there are so many reasons why he simply must be successful. He has already mentioned the European priority so if that doesn't go well in the qualifiers straight away the pressure multiplies.

There is clearly issues with their balance sheet, the need to fill the stadium, the desire to trim the squad and get value from players, the only one year rolling contract etc etc.

The pressure on him to keep the successive league title run going is the biggest one. We are not expected to win the title first time around and Mark will not share the same pressure to do so but if we do then their big money gamble on high earning Brendan will have dramatically backfired and internal chaos will ensue.

Rodgers is their big money signing, the box office appointment, the big 'all in' in card playing terms. The problem  with these moves are you don't know what hand the others at the table have?

He ain't one of their own,he was a Sheffield Wednesday fan. And a 12 month contract says a lot. The fuckers would have welcomed John Barnes back after ronnies balls up

I keep hearing and reading this "he turned his back on the Premier League" myth being peddled.

What Premiership jobs were available, or were likely to be available this Summer that was he offered or considered a front runner for?

How maybe got offered the Swansea job in January but that was months before Celtic even made a play for him.
