When I dislocated my shoulder the doctor tried to put it in but couldn't ( it was fucking sore btw ) and I had to be knocked out to get it back in - it's not always as easy as 'pop it back in' and might need a specialist

I think we all appreciate this. What we don't appreciate is why does he need to sit in a public waiting room waiting on treatment, he's a professional footballer playing for one of the biggest clubs in the UK

As an aside. I thought as he was coming down from challenging the smaller bheast CH, in the immediate run up to his injury, that the bheast had a bit if a punch at JG ribs.

No one around me saw it. Did I imagine it? ?

I thought the same thing mate

He's a member of the public just the same as you and me when sitting in an NHS hospital.

Might be jumping to conclusions but if we don't have private healthcare for the players that's abysmal

I'm sure we do. As others have said most of the consultants in private hospitals are NHS employees. There is no A&E at private hospitals and obviously Rangers deemed the injury to require immediate medical attention so he's went to QEUH. Any follow up will be done in Ross Hall. I'm sure he would have been seen relatively quickly because judging by the photo it looks pretty empty!

You realise that there's probably not any private hospitals in Glasgow that would do an 'A&E' type of service, particularly on Hogmanay?

And if they did, it's unlikely to include a specialist for injuries of this nature?

Still - anything to have a dig at the club :raging:

You better tell that to BMI healthcare and Ross hall hospital in Glasgow then.

It's real. My thoughts exactly.

Embarrassing to say the least.

Relax mate, it's nothing out the ordinary. For a start if he's broken a collarbone or dislocated a shoulder the only way that jersey is coming off is by cutting it off and the unless you're in London there's no private A&E facilities.

Someone mentioned above, it's no surprise to me that when Garner went off the game changed, we had to try to play it out with no option for a long ball.

There's a difference between Private healthcare and dedicated consultants that work for the club (you can imagine the cost). Even if we have Private cover, which I'm sure we will, people still need to go to A&E, this includes professional sportsmen! No more important than Joe Public when it comes to NHS I'm afraid to say

Many private consultants work in the NHS, they just farm themselves out to private health care on a rota basis for an extra Mercedes Benz per year.

... and perhaps the only shoulder specialist available on Hogmanay works at the southern? It's not that bad mixing with the proletariat ye ken!

We do yeah, but if they think it's serious they'll take him too the hospital to get the root of it.

I've seen folk deal with dislocated shoulders on the pitch before, pop it back in, hurts like a bitch but after that it's all good.

So that's why i'm thinking somethings broke.

Course you have:rofl:

I honestly think we'd have won if he didn't get injured.

He was our out ball. When Waghorn came on things seemed a little off after that.

I said the exact same thing during the game. We went to shit after the goal and it was because the players were hesistant to play a long forward ball to Waghorn. Plus Garner will fight for every ball and press defenders right away, Waghorn doesn't do any of that. You could see straight away Garner was a worry for their defenders

NHS is still the best place to go for any sort of injury like that, so in itself, it shouldn't set any alarm bells ringing.

Yeah throwing long balls towards their centre was giving them problems. We were on the front foot. Lego eater was struggling and having no impact on the game (and losing the plot).

Mince Waghorn came on our style resorted to type (slow and error strewn) their centre halves dealt easily with Waghorn and we ended up allowing them to dominate. Second half in particular was disgusting to endure.
