It's clear that alot of the missed placed passing and positioning is down to new players and general rustyness, we will get better but how long that takes is an other question, sometimes new teams hit the ground running but that's not the case here, if I was Mick I'd be practicing passing drill's none stop, maybe they are but it didn't look like it.

How’s it clear?  The miss placed passing happened all of last season aswell.

Can’t fault Borna’s delivery but after that there is nothing. Absolutely fuck all he’s particularly good at.

Can’t beat a man, can’t defend one v a one, utter weakling who under pressure will continue to make the same shitty back post mistakes he always makes.

Dunno why when he got the assist for the 2nd goal he then decided not to keep trying they crosses all game and resorted to the big far out looping numbers that get us fuck all

Probably because he was never in a position to. It was Souttar breaking from defence that got him in that position.

There was a few times in the second half, especially when we had the man advantage, where he could have broke down the line but instead hung back for the pass, and when he got the pass he never looked for the 1-2 to try get to the byline

Not just him mind you, the whole team stopped playing their game after lammers miss

he got into good positions a lot and twice Danilo failed to give him the ball but let's not count those.

Barisic gets it even when he does nothing wrong.

Great first time ball in that causes problems for defenders and invites strikers to attack it , then he reverts to his habit of stopping a moving ball before playing that high looping cross that rarely works , if he even gets it past the first man . Doing my tits in now with this .

Clearly one of, if not our main, plans for creating chances is to pack the box and send cross after cross.

Send 30 crosses in and play the percentages.

Im happy enough if the majority of the crosses were like the assist for the 2nd

If between tav and Borna we put in 35 crosses a game, and 60% were of the 2nd goal the other night, thats 21 crosses across the 6 yard box, the ones defenders and keepers hate, we'd score 2 or 3 a game just from they crosses wether its a ditect assist or a rebound comes back out to someone in the box

But we dont cross like that

No team crosses like that 20 times a match. That's just fantasy stuff.

No team drops in 30 looping shite crosses a game either when the first ten don't work

Apart from us

We hit the byline and scored on Tuesday night, how many times did we try it again? Especially in the 2nd half

I'm sure we'd rather be doing it 20 times a game but it's just never going to happen, and daft to think it should.

Putting in that many crosses a game is easy to defend against.

If that's all we do the opposition just need to set up to defend them. We have no variety so they know that's all we're going to do.

Did Martindale not call out how easy we are to defend against last season?

Its much much harder to defend against drilled low crosses across your 6 yard box than floated long cross that you can actually attack and clear, we dont do enough of the first and way too many of the second
