It seems obvious that all the messages from the club are to prepare the fans for a period of very little success, if any, whilst they try to rebuild everything. 

I'm not happy at all about where we are, but I think I'd rather they were honest about it than hit out with all the "best in class" patter, only to be signing guys like Igamane who can't even train with the team or to rock up for the first game of a new season with a weaker squad and only one summer signing capable of starting. I still think we've been horrendously mismanaged, but I'd rather that they weren't trying to pull the wool over my eyes about it.
