thats english prices  you will never convince me that mcburnie is worth 17-20 mill but sheffield utd paid it

Transfers between English clubs are beyond disgusting. We are talking about a Liverpool youth player who shined in the second half of a season for us.

If it wins us the league I'll not be giving a monkeys about the 7m though.

Dave's problem.  Be a pleasure seeing Kent back in the team.

It's the price you pay when you shop in the Epl even for youth players Morelos would have cost as much if he was bought from an Epl club.

Nottingham Forrest have just sold 18 year old Striker Arvin Appiah to Almeria for £8 million, the prices are ridiculous, Alfredo must worth £35 million going by these figures.

The Epl not the market for us Gerrard wants Kent though so we will have to pay over the odds.

We spunked £2million on Grezda and will likely get fuck all for him.  We should be able to sell Kent on for a few quid at some point.

Hopefully Grezda was less than that sell on fee for Kent will be dependant on how much a sell on clause Liverpool add in.

I'd rather we stop kidding ourselves on we dont need strikers.

£7m isn't what it was. Before we bought Laudrup for what, £2.5m, if that? Gazza was £4.3m, The market has changed so significantly that £7m is cheap for an English player of that standard with that potential for growth, ridiculous though that is.

We know that Kent has the quality to improve us and to become a better player, we saw his capacity for growth as a player last season. We know he can perform in the big games. We know he has the sort of qualities that are rare in our league - skill, dribbling, the capacity to outwit a player but also take his bumps and bruises where required - and we know that he knows what the club is about and what is required. We also know that with celtic's sale of Tierney for £25m that teams would be willing to spend money on talent from Scotland if convinced enough, meaning we could double or triple our investment if it comes off. If we doesn't, we still have a good player locked down for his peak years.  It's one of the least risky 'big signings' you can feasibly do.

It's a lot of money for us but £7m doesn't buy you 3 Laudrups these days.

For the prices we signed them for then Laudrup would be worth about 40/50 million today and Gascoigne would be worth about 70 million. Crazy to think that's the realm we were in back then compared to now!

That's it, wild to think that. Imagine what Ally McCoist, Andy Goram, Mark Hately, etc would be worth these days as well.
