Was rushing about last night and never had dinner before the game so went for a pie at half time and was pleasantly surprised there was new stuff. When did this change? Beef brisket was dynamite.

Some of the outrage from some customers was embarrassing right enough when they found out it wasn't the usual shite.

£4 is good for Chicken Tikka Masala. Assume it's not in pie format and includes a peshwari and a side of spiced onions? Worth the admission fee alone.

In situations like this it can see a players career at the club over, Souness had no qualms in dropping Butcher for a league cup semi.....Butcher never played for us again, Amo lost the armband but memory fails me whether it was Advocaat or Mcleish who stripped him, as bad as Tav has been he still tops the assist chart so far this season, not sure we can sack him off completely

Coincidentally tops the failed assists chart too, by a country mile. Any full back/wing back playing in our system will have top assist numbers in SPL all day long.

  3. Comments on this post so far say it all. In years gone by we'd have no problem offering half a dozen candidates, on any one season. Think of all the great Rangers who had a presence at the club but were never club captain in the past. Currently, with anticipated number of appearances due to age and injury record I'm drawing a blank. Strange times indeed. As a previous poster said, we should have 11 captains on the pitch.

They didn’t play us off the park. They got 2 early goals which meant they could sit back and were very organised.

We weren’t quick or good enough to break them down.

A result like this was going to happen soon enough to us given we concede first in basically every game.

We got what we deserved but it wasn’t due to Hibs dominating. I’d almost be happier if Hibs played us off the park and we all held our hands up but we were to blame being so lacklustre.

Agree. It's become very simple for most teams in the SPL to sit in against Plan A. We should have a B and C up our sleeve surely?

Is GVB being unveiled at Ibrox today? We need a positive lift after yesterday, but tbh I could see yesterday happening, the confidence of these players are shot to bits, hopefully GVB can lift the gloom.

Hopefully not. Whole squad should be called into Auchenhowie for a double shift and addressed collectively and individually too. Yesterday's fiasco gives me real cause for concern. Last week, the big plus for Gio was the fact that he was walking into a settled squad, no need for an extensive rebuild. The goal posts moved on that one yesterday. I could sit here typing all day but would on a whole, simply be regurgitating what's been said in the past 12 hours, most of which was justified. This is a time for strong man management. Identify who's no longer fit for purpose, but equally, recognise what can be salvaged from SG squad. My one fear is that Patterson's already made his mind up, hence the lack of game time over the past while. I may be wrong on that one of course.

  6. Takes me back this chat. We were average at best for the first part of the 80's, on paper decent squads, but with a strong challenge from Aberdeen and Dundee Utd, we were regularly finishing outside the top three. I'd talk myself out of going to our home games only to inevitably jump in the car at 2.35 and be parked up in the John Lawrence car park a couple of minutes before kick off. Never a queue, pay at the gate, and wander from West to East enclosure. We improved 85/86 and the following season I bought my first season ticket, 25 minutes from couch to enclosure no longer possible. I was skint back then, I remember paying for my season ticket with a Style card for a few years. Road to financial ruin for a while....

Nah the club couldn’t even tell us that. But I assume everyone’s away. This is from the Athletic:

“Talks progressed quickly between Gerrard and Premier League suitors Aston Villaover Tuesday and Wednesday but he was always going to move as one of a team, given the beefy backroom staff he has built up at Rangers and how valuably he rates them.

Assistant Gary McAllister, first-team coach Michael Beale, technical coach Tom Culshaw and head of performance Jordan Milsom are all part of the core staff but there are numerous others, such as doctor Mark Waller and analyst Scott Mason, both brought in from Liverpool, who he views as integral to his wider group.”

    Pillager.

Think you might be reading too much into this.

He can live with his family again and commute to Birmingham, remember he’s been living away from his family now for over 3 years, couldn’t do that at Newcastle.

Villa’s squad is better than Newcastle’s so more chance of turning things around rather than getting relegated and having to get out of the championship or getting sacked as let’s face it Newcastle would have the money to sack how in 6 months time no bother.

Gerrard was never likely to get offered the Liverpool job directly from us unless doing something spectacular in Europe e.g. win the Europa league, therefore he needs an EPL stepping stone that is agnostic to Liverpool (so linked with Everton which he wasn’t going to take, Newcastle who have a shite squad and are most likely for the drop with potentially erratic ownership). Villa ticked enough boxes I guess.

His only chance of matching what he had here in terms of size of club and fan base is if he gets his dream job at Liverpool, get it and it will vindicate his decision to leave, fail to get it and I think he may regret this one for the rest of his days……..then bring out a book telling us all about it.

No, I get all of what you're saying, 100%. Whether he was considered for Newcastle or not, only two weeks ago he seemed very quick to shoot the notion that he'd leave just now, down. I have no qualms about any manager or player moving on, it happens, just seems to be a shift in his outlook rather suddenly, irrespective of where he'd leave for.

Newcastle were also looking for a manager. Why so happily settled two weeks ago and so quick to move two weeks later.

Are we all really bad judges of character? SG is a loyal person by trait. He was committed to this project 2 weeks ago and now he is moving. Something doesn’t add up in my view

I agree, something's not quite right here. Two weeks ago he nailed his colours to the mast. We are in all cup competitions and top of the league. We win the league this season and SG walks away in May, £40 million delivered to the club, job done, back where we belong, finishing his project and leaving with kudos. So what's happened for him to bite at the Villa job. He must know what potential consequences lie ahead for us to lose our management team at this stage of this season. I thought he appeared quite brazen when spotted yesterday, almost as if he has something up his sleeve as to why he's bailing out just now. Interesting day ahead.

I think anybody outside the uk is too big gamble at this stage of the season, trying to get the team to play a new system and that, but if they got a guy who knows how the current team play and knows the opposition better than anybody in England or abroad, and let’s face it other than somebody like Callum Davidson (who’s more of a gamble imo) McInnes it would probably be the man with the most experience as a manager, plus every player I’ve heard speaking who played for him, loved him.

I don’t like the guy anymore but if he came in and won 56 I could forgive him

Spot on. WE need someone with a knowledge of this league, for this season certainly. McInnes may be one of the few that have been mentioned happy to take the role as he's nothing to lose. He may see this as an opportunity to prove many wrong. Too much of a gamble for all parties to look at Davidson, Neilson for what could be no more than a 7 month shift.
