His chance where he was clean through and was so slow he couldn’t get a proper effort on goal pretty much sums up why it’s time to move on.
Hope he finds the motivation to sort his career and life out. Such a waste of his ability.

    Shared from a friend.
Player Profile : John Brown (1988 to 1996)
Very best wishes to a big favourite of mine, John Brown, who turns 61 today.
John signed for his boyhood heroes just over 35 years ago when manager Graeme Souness paid Dundee £350,000 to secure the services of the versatile 25 year old. It was money well spent but few would have predicted the contribution he would go on to make at Ibrox over almost two decades initially as a player and later as a coach.
‘Bomber’ made his debut in a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle on 16th January 1988 but could just as easily have been lining up in maroon that day had the ‘Jam Tarts’ not pulled the plug on a deal late in the day due to concerns over an ongoing knee problem. If there were any lingering doubts over John’s fitness his mental strength and determination were always likely to overcome any minor difficulties.
Durability was certainly not a problem during his Rangers career, he would appear in all but the last of our sequence of nine successive league championships having frustratingly suffered a barren debut partial season. In addition to those successful league title campaigns, John would feature in 3 League Cup and 3 Scottish Cup winning sides.
A fiery red head, John was certainly not one to take prisoners but his ‘hard man’ image possibly meant that he did not receive the plaudits he deserved in terms of his playing ability. He could could play almost any position on the left hand side or centrally. His distribution was very good, he could certainly beat a player and provide a decent delivery when operating as a full-back and throughout his career he had proved he could score goals from anywhere (as we often found out to our cost).
The treble winning season of 1992/93 was John’s greatest season at Ibrox when he formed an excellent central defensive partnership with Richard Gough. Whether up against Cantona, Boksic or Voller during our extended European run, John took it all in his stride.
The 1990/91 league title decider with Aberdeen probably best portrays John and what the Club means to him. With the squad decimated by injury, John started the game knowing full well that he would not finish it due to an ongoing Achilles problem. As anticipated, this finally snapped during the game and John was stretched from the pitch in agony leaving the ground on crutches. Crucially by then, Rangers were well on the way to winning the match and securing ‘3 in a row’. It was a classic example of John going the ‘extra mile’ for Rangers to his own detriment.
John would call it a day at the end of season 1995/96 going out at the very top following an emphatic Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts at Hampden. He would continue to coach and play for the Reserves and youth team for the next decade and after a period of absence later returned and continues to undertake various scouting roles. His long service was rewarded with a much deserved Testimonial once his playing career was over.
In all, John made 278 appearances for Rangers scoring 18 goals including his favourite at Parkhead when he rifled home in front of the Rangers  support during the New Year fixture of 1992. The stuff of dreams.

Got an early Christmas present for free from Castore / Rangers on the 10th December that I wasn't expecting. Parcel turned up out of the blue and I just took it anyway as I thought that seeing as I've worked hard all year that I've deserved it. Delivery guy was sound and he never even took a photo. Stuff was a bit big but seeing as it was free I couldn't really send it back or complain.

I understand that but this is a significant, long term investment, a commitment to which can’t be dependent on the team’s form.

Looks a shadow of himself now to be honest - Maybe he and we both need a fresh start….
In fairness to him at the moment no one looks good in this team.
Think we have been to loyal to players - As above poster says these players have done it all through the years for us. We should be more ruthless and move these guys on when the market value is high
    Morelos -£16m at one point
Kent - £15-£20m at one point
    Kamara - £10m a few months ago
    Barisic - £6-£12m a few years back
We should be spinning these players when we can and reinvest in the squad, keeps it fresh and keeps it ticking over- We now have guys just stuck in a rut hence no desire/enthusiasm etc

Very interesting and worth watching- think that is the first time I have actually really  understood the player trading model, and the difference between them and us.  Because they have been selling players for decent money for some years, they are benefiting from a number of instalments coming in each year for different players they have sold.  We have just started so in reality only have the first years instalments available and that money also has to be used for running the club- electricity, infrastructure, wages etc, as well as the instalments due on players we have bought over the last three years or so. That is what he says can’t be paid on IOU’s ( not buying players) but if we can continue to sell well in the coming years, then the cash available- ie more than one instalment at a time- obviously gets better each year.

I always felt Bennett was a cut above the other morons in the boardroom but starting to rethink that.
A prolonged 17 minute car crash. To use the Napoli game as a justification for anything is wild, to do it twice is mind-boggling.
It does mirror what I had been told previously though that the board, Wilson etc all believe this is a squad more than capable of winning the league and competing in Europe.
Another bit of brilliance in there is him complaining about the reported transfer fees for players. Well the club briefed their poodles in the support what those fees were.

They are the very definition of flat track bullies.
By the end of last season we were better on the pitch than them having played six more matches than them, all win or go home ties against top European teams. We were beating Dortmund the same Thursday that Bodo fucking Glimt was curb stomping them. They couldn’t defeat us over 120 minutes less than 72 hours after we played 120 minutes. They can talk big but they remember. It is us who are in their heads.
We need to hit them in the face and don’t let up.
