I think one or two may miss him, but my overriding feeling is not many. Think they preferred Beale.

I'll always be grateful for Stevie delivering 55 but deep down always thought there was a snide side to him. Don't know why, just a gut feeling I had. His wee smirk grated on me at times.

Gio has a better demeanour Imo and having a good grasp of the English language and being well travelled may appeal to some of our players a bit more. Who knows. Like the cut of his jib though.

When he left I said I thought he did not know how to turn the team around and that was why he wanted out. It was not just him btw, McAllister, Beale etc were there to help and it looked to me like a collapse of 2 seasons ago was on the cards. Feeling better now.

Although overall he under performed (in terms of trophies), Gerrard has been good for us tho. 55 and 4.5m into the bargain.

Sell Morelos, Tav, Goldson, Kamara and Barasic. Patterson and Bassey are capable of replacing our full backs. Give the manager some cash to bring in some quality replacements in January for the other 3, with back ups brought in for the full back positions  . I'm afraid if we go with these 5 players for the rest of the campaign we are gonna blow this automatic CL entry because they aren't interested.

Agreed. 5 players wanting away is 5 too many.

Here’s me thinking we’d be playing like world beaters to get their big move to Villa.

defenders made of glass with the hearts of mice.

old boys running about in midfield thinking they have still got it.

    Strikers that don’t strike

and coaching staff that completely lost the plot and had no clue how to manage any in game tactics.

a complete and utter fucking disaster.
GVB has got his work cut out

I honestly think we got off lightly.  At one point I thought we were looking at a 6 nil drubbing.

Tav and Goldson getting criticism quite rightly but I’d add Barisic to the list of guys that require a permanent place on the bench for a good while. His performances of late have been rotten and yesterday was the worst of them all. He has the heart of a mouse at times. Give Bassey a good run rather than 2-3 games here and there and then dropping out again.

Agreed. Barosic was fuckin well of pace yesterday.

Having just watched the game back then sat down had a cuppa to calm down IMO we started with the wrong eleven.

However we can sit here and criticize after the event but we have played this predictable football all season trying pretty little passes and touches trying to get in on goal but when that does not work we have no plan B. Teams know they only have to pull 10 men back in defence and eventually a pass will go astray or be intercepted and we either are told not to shoot from outside the box or have no one capable.

The key is we are predictable and other managers have worked us out.

    Correct  100%

So new manager comes in and takes the armband off someone who led the players to a league title… who do the players side with? The manager who’s just come in? Or the guy who they’ve been working with everyday for the past 4 years. Players have all the power.

It's not a matter of siding. It's not a fucking democracy we are talking about. The person with the power of tactics, team selections and a huge input into reward decisions calls the shots. If they don't like it they can leave but other clubs don't want spoilt prima donnas either. Gvb would need to handle it carefully , of that their is no doubt. But if it needs done it needs done.

Bassey especially must have wondered under sneaky G, what he had to do to get a run, literally him and a unit, he is the only defender we have that would bleed, put himself in danger for the crest upon the kersey, him and big katic, we need to go back to being nasty bastards who kick fuck out the oppistion aswell as play fitba.

Do nasty bastards go down on their knees in front of an opposition that hates them? It's all part of the arrogance that Rangers need to recapture.

Aye manager comes in and the first thing he does is take the armband off someone I’m assuming the whole squad likes and respects, good move

Ahem. Who is responsible for getting the team performance right? The manager. It matters not a jot if the captain is well liked but ineffectual.

It’s a one off cup game after a 2 week break in which we lost our manager and ended up being managed by some random cunt nobody’s heard of. We were horrendous but everyone needs to calm the fuck down and get some perspective

Nonsense. I think Gerrard left because he knew this was in the post and he was not confident he could turn it around. Whoever picked the team compounded it by starting guys that have been jaded for so long. Both fullbacks and morelos for starters.

I was gutted a bit this morning but I’m over it now. We’ve been struggling all season and a new man can come in and take us to that next level.

Me too. If honest not totally convinced sg  can prevent another collapse in form like 2 seasons ago. I like him but we are not firing on all cylinders and is his job to sort it and not totally convinced he would.  Maybe he knows that both parties need the change.
