  1. Last night Ufa knew what they were doing disrupting the flow of the game and trying to get us into bother which was frustrating as hell (McGregor did the same to Maribor in the second leg) but I had mixed emotions of frustration/anger and amusement at the end of the game when their player went down "injured" where he couldn't even decide where to pretend the injury was (started at lower leg, then back of the knee then the hamstring )

Then the cunt makes the quickest recovery ever and tries to pick a fight with Goldson

Did nobody notice that we are still unbeaten this season.

Just don't get the doom and gloom after a European win.

It’s not doom and gloom from most.

I think you have to be able to see the good and bad from a game to learn what to keep doing and what to improve on and I can tell from Gerrards post match interview he wasn’t pleased with the performance overall and that’s good because it means we don’t just settle for a 1-0 win at home in Europe we look to see what we could do better.

  3. Kent is getting better, his effort when he cut In was not that far off the mark.

Candeias lacks the ability to beat the fullback but his work rate is superb.

I think Middleton has one move but he does it very well.

The trouble we had tonight wad they crowded the box and got a number of blocks or deflections from crosses and cutbacks.

I don’t think a better quality winger would have helped that much tonight. I think a central midfielder who has the ability to beat a man and play the cutting passes is what we need (as well as Arfield getting some space to shoot as he has a decent shot on him).

Ejaria impressed tonight more than his other performances but I don’t see him being that creative midfielder.

Was fucking shocking tonight!! Two stone wall penalty’s not given! Don’t know how many times they fouled Morelos & never got booked, yet Lafferty was booked after 3 mins of being on the park!

And 5 mins later their sins first action was to take out Middleton with no attempt to get the ball and got away with it. Lafferty’s Foul looked bad but he watched the ball the whole time.

Referee should get transferred to Scottish football he’d fit right in here.....utter shite, inconsistent, probably never seen the rule book.

The thought of Lafferty on the wing gives me the fear

Lafferty was going to be brought in as a striker and whilst it’s a Halliday at left back type situation as far as cover anywhere else on the pitch is concerned I’d be hugely surprised if we weren’t already looking at a replacement for Murphy either as a loan or a permanent deal.

  6. Feel bad for Murphy as these injuries are tough to come back from and he’s going to have to sit and watch the team in these positive times.

Shite for the club that a new (and not that cheap) signing is now unavailable for a season and we still pick up the wages.

Im angry at the continued head in the sand approach from the SPFL about these pitches. Injuries can happen on grass but it’s not a contributing factor to the likelihood of injury however these pitches are. I said before it’ll only be when a scum player gets a season ender injury on one of these pitches that the cabal do anything about it.

  7. He’s a confidence player and at the moment his confidence is sky high and therefore he’s finishing chances he’d have missed last season.

Agree he’a caught offside too often and he’ll hopefully learn over time and start to stay onside. He’s not slow and he is strong so he doesn’t always need to get the extra 2 yards ahead as the ball comes through.

The owners of these pitches should pay the players wages for the duration of their time out and rehab costs.

It would certainly make the financial benefits of having the plastic pitch seem less attractive (possibly more costly and make them rethink it).

That is a very good save, but not even in the same stratosphere as the Bremen one, in my opinion.

Very true, I think the one last night was reminiscent of the Bremen save just because it was close up and was a big save as far as the outcome of the game was concerned however you are right it isn't close to the Bremen one if I'm being honest

even if the Liverpool job came up at the end of the season i would hope Gerrard would have the sense to see that he'd be better waiting until he has more experience than to run the risk of going now and running the risk of ruining his legacy at liverpool.

    I’m thinking longer term.

I could see Gerrard becoming a mainstay at our club if he keeps going like this so if in 2 years or 3 years time the Liverpool job became available I think he’ll more than likely go for it and if he’s won titles and cups here then I suspect he’ll get it.....then you worry about who you get in because the last 3 managers have been dire in comparison.

Can't stand all this . Yes he probably should have done better with that chance, but overall last night not one of our players deserves criticism.

So it was the perfect performance from every player and no player should look to improve or better certain elements of their game?

You always have to find areas you can improve upon otherwise you think you are perfect, get complacent and become useless in a team of highly motivated players.

Murphy put in a shift last night as did the other players but that doesn’t mean you can’t find any flaws in their game overall or the performance last night.

Morelos was great last night too but again reacted to the opposition trying to wind him up and could have been sent off. Are we not allowed to say he needs to cut that out of his game?

Ejaria worked hard but lost the ball a number of times being too casual or trying to showboat rather than keep possession and play simple passes. Should that also be overlooked?

Do you think Gerrard or his coaching staff will say great game lads and move on? Of course not they’ll assess the game for each player and collectively and see what went well and what could be better.

As long as the criticism isn’t just “He’s shite” and instead shows a level of thought and is constructive then I see no problem being able to bring anything like that to a discussion on the game.

He should have looked up and squared the ball back and showed a bit of composure

Look at the clip above he had no one in support at that point, holding up play would just have allowed the defence to get back in numbers.

A better touch and a better connection with the ball for his shot and he’d at least have given the keeper something to worry about.
