With the way lundstram and Bassey have improved under Gio and his coaching team I think a full pre-season for Wright will really help him, plus that goal will give him loads of confidence.
He’ll be a good squad player but we need better than him, and Diallo for that matter, on the right wing.

How can Gio see lowry tear them apart a week ago on a smaller pitch and not realise he will change this game? What has Arfield done this half?

Not only that it benefits the club loaning the player out as if it goes well their value goes up, they develop more, in the shop window etc.
Loans should really only be done to get players way above our station (think that was the idea with Ramsey but it didn’t turn out so well) or loan with option to buy e.g. hagi

I think had it been Scott Wright that took the penalty then you could understand but Ramsey was meant to be head and shoulders above anyone in the team and was brought on specifically to take and score a penalty. I wonder if someone got bumped out of the 5 takers for Ramsey,, like lundstram as I could see him stepping up to take one.
Someone like Ramsey should have been able to strike a ball from 12 yards with enough pace and a bit of height if going down the middle to keep it out of the keepers reach, it wasn’t a wonder save it was a poor penalty.

Anyway, I’d be playing lowry over Ramsey in the final as he was excellent against them at tynecastle and with a bigger pitch at hampden I think he’ll have a field day. Lowry is part of our future and Ramsey is not.

The annoying thing was Leipzig spent 90+ million this season and we put them to the sword.
The final was there for the taking and if we had shown up as we have in previous rounds we’d have won it even without Morelos, hagi and helander. That’s why it’s more frustrating than Manchester because it was really achievable.
I don’t see any reason we can’t get back to another final, sure we’re up against it financially but i take heart from the last 4 years in europe.
