How were people supposed to know back then the player he was going to turn in to? Unfortunately we are not a forum full of highly skilled scouts.

And as already mentioned, had he joined McCoist would've likely turned him in to a fat lazy passenger. He's had excellent coaching at Leicester which is why he is the player he is today.

Maybe the first sentence should apply to all of warburtons signings then instead of disregarding them I.e the forrester thread

Completely agree with you there.

A lot of people think if we spend heavily then it's a guaranteed successful signing, but Rangers more often than not have never paid what a player was worth- as far back as Daniel prodan.  We spunked good hard cash and received minimal in return on a hell of a lot of players.

Some players are suited to certain clubs wether they cost 50 million like fernando Torres (flopped) or 200k for own waghorn who has flourished in Glasgow

Spending cash doesn't guarantee success, not spending cash guarantees failure though

It would've been an interesting signing but I'm pretty sure even if we did have the money which we likely didn't back then, he wouldn't have tupe'd over anyway and landed at a club like Leicester or Wolves anyway and he'd just be another one we absolutely hate.

With that in mind, I really like watching him so im happy he didn't sign

Problem with forrester is that he can tear this league up then fuck off in the summer if an English club blows us out the water financially

Finding gems is good, but only if you own them and arent just borrowing them

Vardy is good, but it can't be underestimated the role his manager will have played in his great run of form. Maybe he just needed someone like Ranieri to believe in his ability. With a different manager who knows, but sometimes a player can feel more at ease with the right manager.  I hope he inspires players who feel they have achieved all they're going to go by their mid-twenties. Vardy is living the dream, and good on him.
