So curiosity getting the better of me and a little googling arrives at Allan MacKenzie, the fan who "pledged" £1m to Save Rangers fund but in the end bought 250k of shares from the Club.

MacKenzie is a single malt and McKenzie is also the name of the river where the Blue Nile rises. The guy was featured on the RST page a few times so not sure if that matches up with reference to "the doubters".
