BraveheartGordon 77
thats debatable when you consider a lot of last seasons wage bill was made up with goian and bocanegra's wages, plus we had a couple of months of the likes of edu, broadfoot etc on the wage billthe team on the park may be better this season but last seasons wages were bloated with guys who werent in the team It's not debatable last season we had a wage bill of 7.8 million (decided by Charles Green) this season it was around 6 million,a cut of about 25%
Bluepeter9 5,167
Yip, don't toe the Ally is the saviour line and it's an agenda.CringeI know - it's shocking that a supporter would back the manager - should never be allowed!!! skullery 240
For all the posters blaming Ally for our wage bill , here is the stark reality , Ally was under pressure from the board his bosses to compete against SPL teams , and to compete against SPL teams you need SPL class players ,Mr Green quote ........Charles Green has told Rangers boss Ally McCoist that simply winning the league will not be enough this seasonreen, who has returned to the club as a consultant, had been quoted as saying that McCoist's side had to win a cup The board wanted a SPL class team , the board sanctioned SPL type players

MasterD 7,436
It's a shame we didn't have someone like Wallace here from the start of us getting put down the leagues.Having crap chairmen and poor CEOs have played a big part in us being in this position. He didn't. He almost jettisoned them this season and they have been bit part players apart from McLeod.

To compete against SPL teams ...that rules out the Ramsdens cupAlly is on record saying some of the players that signed in Div3 were not down to him , but part of Mr Greens network , with 2 weeks before the league started he had no option but to agree to boost his pool of players ..the standard of player and the expenditure of the players was down to the board , and we had a mixture of youth and experienced players , you are looking for a scapegoat but the facts are there , the board set the bar on players and their wages

legalbeagle 3,734
Arguing about the responsibility for the actual signings is pretty much academic. The wage budget was accepted and sanctioned by various CEOs and Boards, clearly now there is an imperative to reduce it. The quality of the players is valid only in how easy it is to offload some. allgers 735
What is best for Rangers, Increase the boardroom costs and decrease the playing staff costs, aye that is going to help with the season tickets, next season we are going to be facing full time teams with a reduced squad, hands up anyone who thinks thats a good idea.
