AlCapone 7,678
I think we should look at Ferguson as our next manager, he has unfinished business with us, has been learning his trade under an excellent manager, and would terrify half the current squad!! I think we need someone with a bit of youth and vigour as whoever takes over has a massive job ahead of them, the whole club needs a boot up the arse, and taking in a new direction. I think he could have a similar impact to Souness...Oh FFS is this a wind up? We are trying to stop 10 in a row and need to get ack to the top.,the last thing we need is an untried manager, let's also forget about ex players unless they've done it! Clean the place of the old boys network, we fucking need it!

cr3_bear 14,872
We need some entertainment back at Ibrox, I cant remember the last game I enjoyed watching if i'm honest, whoever comes in has to be more attack minded!only game i can think of being genuinley happy with the performance was the raith rovers away game this season, as for last season i am struggling to even thinkof anything past October that was remotely entertaining. Shuggy 1,308
I thought this would be another story of an old pal backing Ally as manager.BTW, No.
Hamie 4,842
Anyone would be better than McCoist. McCoist management brings you absolutely nothing. Considering our training complex are our players fitter than our opposition? Are our players more disciplined? Are they solid defensively? Are they creative in midfield? Are they quicker? Can they keep the ball? Are we dangerous from set plays? Are our strikers creating chances and hitting the target? Are our youths progressing into the first team? The answer is no. All of this coupled with the fact ally couldn't spot a player if he slapped him in the face. We simply don't do anything well. Or even average. Ally need to be booted out he door now. Coop 654
He's way down the shortlist of qualified Fergusons.Somewhere between Sarah and Massey on my list.
SteveEarle 9,771
Who on this current board would be able to identify a decent manager??It could end up being some ridiculous cheap option. Someone the Easdale's had a pint with in Lanzarote last summer!?Could Ashley do it? I've always been told he has no interest in football, just cold hard cash. The ice Ally is skating on is thin, and rightly so, but I do dread who could spot a decent manager out of the shower sat in the directors box............ I don't think anyone on our board is a proper footballing man with a history in the game. If a vacancy opened up I've no doubt we'd get dozens of applications but I'm not confident our board would know exactly what we needed. They may have their own personal and business priorities. willcol 13
Big Dunc would scare the shit out of some of our current squad which probably wouldn't be a bad thing. However I dont think he would be the best choice for our next manager but perhaps a coaching role wouldn't be a bad shout.
HG5 11,114
No.What is it with people wanting an Ex Ranger as manager? It just clouds fans judgement.I know what you mean, but he was hardly around long enough for some of the undesirable habits to sink in.And been away long enough for any there are to be overwritten. johanhentze 14,089
My point exactly. We need someone who is up for a massive challenge and set rangers up for the 21st century. Where is the new William Struth???The answer is to employ another dino? Come on now..
Malvern 11,329
Been thinking on this for about 5 minutes, which is a considerable amount of time considering I am on the internet with access to porn and the bird is in bed, however having Duncan in the managers dugout would be a joke to me. Then again so was the earlier SAF suggestion as I cannot see him even considering it.I will not be able to make a real choice on this one until I see the list of applied candidates and not some wish list from Amazon on the subject. ShaneRalfRoss 301
He would take no shit from anyone . I reckon he be Everton Manager one day . No sure would he come back to us .
blueforyou 8
he will be the man to step into roberto shoes at Everton when he goes, he has done great worth with the youths and under 21 teamand Martinez wanted him up to the first team coaches this season, he works with the strikers at Everton and is doing a good job look how Naismith is doing this season, would have been a good choice for Rangers but his only love is Everton and he won't leave them . NeoGeo7 10,520
It's going to take enough to get rid of our current unproven manager (though he's now been proven to be awful) without bringing in up and comi "young" manager.Sure he probably has some good qualities but we'd be doing him a favour not the other way around. We need someone who can hit the ground running to grab the club by the horns and shake it up to erase the memory of what was.As many others have said I'd prefer to see us getting applications in rather than specifically targeting managers, you never know how might be interested until you ask.Ferguson may well end up being a good manager but it's not a gamble we can afford to take. BlueSuedeSambas 53,792
As of right now we need an experienced manager but I actually wouldn't have a problem with an inexperienced manager, providing it's somebody who actually has a reputation as being a good coach, which is something McCoist never had.He was basically a good cop to Smith's bad cop and that was about it. berkshirebear 2,771
I just think we will struggle to attract any quality proven coaches, and all their support staff! I think we need someone hungry to prove themselves as the whole club needs overhauling. I really hope its not going to be McCall, Davies, McInnes etc, as I don't think they would be anything special!
