Surprised at that. Thought he would have held off and tried to get a Premier League job.

The lifespan of a football manager is a relatively short one, and there will be a few available on a monthly basis. if it is Steve Gibson who still runs Boro he will at least get a fair crack as he is one of the least trigger happy chairmen.

Tbh I think the Farke sacking lies at the Canaries board for not properly investing in the squad the two times he had them promoted to the premiership. You cannae be going in there with Kenny McLean running the midfield.

He was choosing to play McLean ahead of Gilmour, that's on him not the board

Mental decision. Sold their best player in the summer and are clearly in a transitional phase as a result. Smith was being touted as a future England manager less than a year ago

Think Paulo Fonseca will finally get his job in England, but expect Gerrard to be heavily linked with it in the coming days.

Out of all the jobs down there that have come up recently that's the one I could see making sense for Gerrard but I don't expect him to leave us at this stage of such an important season.

Saving grace is his loyalty mate, would have been many times in his career he got the chance of lucrative moves but stayed loyal. He's got the Liverpool job after klopp and is in the perfect apprenticeship job ie stature, demands, hopefully champions League football next year.

He's also got enough respect in the game to not have to worry about bigger characters in the jump to Liverpool.

Honestly can't see him leaving for shite like villa despite their history. Obviously ye never know but canny see it

He's not going to get the Liverpool job after failing at another club down there and lets be honest there's a far bigger chance of failing at a club like Villa than there there is at us currently

Still not convinced he’s the next Liverpool manager without making a move from us first either.

They would need to have a lot of faith in his ability as a manager if they want to a point somebody managing us in the SPL and the Europa Legaue to managing Liverpool at the top of Premiership and the latter stages of the Champions Legaue.

He is Liverpool mate, he walks into the job.

Think Gerrard will probably be linked with just about every job in the Premier League until he actually moves there.
