Smile 26,624
FALKIRK pair Joe McKee and Kevin O’Hara have been carpeted by the SFA over claims they abused Dunfermline ace Dean Shiels over his missing eye. Hampden beaks issued notices of complaint to the duo over the flashpoint at the Irn-Bru Cup tie last month McKee, 25, and O’Hara, 19, have been charged with ‘excessive misconduct’ after the alleged verbal abuse was highlighted by ref Steven McLean. SunSport understands McKee and O’Hara have been aware of the investigation for almost a month. But Hampden top brass agreed to a request from the clubs to delay a full-scale probe until after the teams met again in the league last weekend. Ex-Rangers and Northern Ireland star Shiels, 32, lost sight in his right eye in a domestic accident when he was eight He had the eye removed in 2006, after pain from a build-up of burst blood vessels led him to seek professional advice. Shiels bravely resumed his playing career after the op, but landed a red card from ref McLean in the October 7 cup-tie for a wild challenge on McKee on the touchline. Dunfermline boss Allan Johnston said after the match: “I think there were maybe some poor remarks made towards Dean.” SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan has now probed the alleged abuse, and published the charges against the duo. They have been carpeted over Disciplinary Rule 202 — no player shall commit excessive misconduct at a match. Both could face lengthy bans if found guilty. Teenage striker O’Hara will face a disciplinary hearing at Hampden on Thursday, with the case against midfielder McKee to be heard a week later. A Falkirk statement said: “We note the announcement by the SFA that a notice of complaint has been received regarding two Falkirk players. “It would be inappropriate to comment further until this process has been completed.” When the clubs met last weekend, Dunfermline’s Kallum Higginbotham was sent off for swinging an arm at McKee

eskbankloyal 19,446
Not withstanding the awful nature of the abuse, why are clubs being allowed to dictate to the SFA when hearings are able to be heard? Seems strange. Also, if a fan abused Dean Shiels in relation to his eye, they would quite conceivably be charged under the OBFA, so will equal standard apply here? Tenerife Bear 1,748
2 tims bullying a protestant. To suggest there are no bigoted undertones to their actions would be foolish. A pair of horrible little cretins.
Kirkintillochbear 48
I think I'm correct that Dunfermline had two players sent off on Saturday for lashing out at this pair. Maybe they wanted a chance to get at this pair before the sfa does funk all about the scum pair

Prso's headband 36,751
Not surprising is it. If this was an Irish Catholic abused by two British Protestants it would be deemed sectarian and bigoted. I await claims of that with baited breath, as that is exactly what it is
CoatbridgeBear 7,113
Horrible cunts, ban them outright and criminally charge them.
Sparkle 54,564
If someone with a disability was abused in the street (outside football or sport) they could be charged with a hate crime under disability and equality legislation. This shouldn't be dealt with any differently, but it will of course.
K.A.I 36,183
Treat them as if they called a black player a niggerr or something - what these two did was abusing someone on a personal level about something that isn’t his fault

cascadeshrimp 1,544
Truly vile, but is it any surprise that rodents do what rodents do? Dean has done brilliantly for himself considering his disability,he could easily have fallen down along the way, from a red hot prospect at arsenal to the famous.A better career than any of these 2 pieces of shite
Gman36 3,477
I bet if it was the reverse way round there would have been some amount of digging to be done to establish they were bears. The headline would have been "Rangers supporting players vile assault on former celtic man", or something along those lines. They'd have joined the dots on it I'm sure.
