Steven Gerrard is a kingaling

It was a bold, ambitious move to bring SG and his team to Rangers.  An excellent piece of business.   It signals the sort of ambition that is needed.

Having done that it takes enough money to back the Manager with getting the best players we can afford to get.  I reckon SG would not be here if he did not appreciate in full that the spending power is nowhere near what he could afforded at many English or European clubs.   But what a challenge it is for him to assemble a properly recognisable and creditable Rangers team from the ragged and failing attempts that we've seen over the last few seasons.    That's a supreme test of SG's leadership, management and coaching abilities and like all of us I wish him absolutely every success.

But its not just players is it.   Its the whole of the Club that needs lifting one way or another.  It's restoring the sort of confidence and feel good factor in the Support by producing a properly competitive winning side every week with trophies to follow; and improving the team and supporter facilities at Ibrox and at  the Hummel training centre; and vastly improving the ways of working and focus at the Club to make the first team the best possible team with results to match it.    It takes a lift in the ambitions we've seen in recent years, and money to fuel that ambition.   And leadership to make it happen.

The matter of how King as a person goes about conducting his business in ways that sees him in court way more than I personally think is good for Rangers good name and reputation is one thing and a matter for other threads.   But in football terms having persuaded SG to take the helm at Rangers there is no question that King and the Board simply have to find enough money to make this work.   There is no option.     They must do their bit to the fullest of their ability to give SG the resources, stadium, facilities, and players he needs to get the job done at Rangers.

The one and only correct answer.

Anyone failing to see it has been a mixed bag so far is operating with an agenda. It's been a footie version of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

If this season ends up with at least 50% of the loans gone, 55 in the bag and a happy manager building for two in a row, I'm going full Kingaling. Until then, it remains in the balance for me.

Will never go full kingaling mate, he’s a lying crook and there no changing that.

He stains the clubs name with his presence.

As long as we keep seeing results in our favour that proves that DK is actually walking the walk as far as SG and his first team of players is concerned ...... then I will park (but not forget) my personal feelings concerning DK's misdemeanours .... that is as far as giving him credit that I will go at this time.

We are too early in SG's tenure to go overboard with dishing out platitudes to the board .... as promising as it is at the moment ..... caution should be the watchword, as we have all been here to witness the false dawns from previous incumbents.

Once we have actually won something will be the time to give credit where it is due .... and the majority of credit should go to SG and his backroom crew .... then the first team .... then the board for doing their job .... not singling out one person for overboard praise.

When we do win something (especially 55) .....  it will have been a joint effort from all involved in our Club ..... all facilitated in a large degree from the continuing financial efforts of our support without whom our Club would not be here.

Are we talking personally or whatever trust he fancies using so he can claim he’s skint.

Again though if it’s a personal lawsuit why should he make the club pay???

I don’t know if he has made the club pay, as for where he got the money why would that concern you, is it because you hate King and no matter what happens that won’t change. In the past you’ve accused me of being a Dingwall plant,  ? truth is I really don’t know all the facts and you don’t either.

I’ve no problem with whatever trust he uses to hide his money, I’ve a problem when he lies.

Morons like you seem more interested in childish personal agendas than Rangers being successful.

You post the same crap day after day year after year cause you have nothing insightful or interesting to say just hammer the knuckles over a laptop about King and that’s it.

The thought of Rangers being successful under King absolutely terrifies you cause you’ll have nothing to contribute when that happens.

I'm feeling on the positive side myself at the moment but still being sceptical of King doesn't mean people want Rangers to fail

I only care about the success of the team and the long-term future of the club.

If Dave King supports the first without risking the second, I'll become a Kingaling too.

The best thing Dave can do right now is give Gerrard what he wants, get the strips on the shelves and haud his wheesht. Win, win, win.

No likes left,  but this in abundance.

Except for the Kingaling part.  I doubt I'll ever get close to that proximity.

Caution to the wind and why not

Tbf I praise our team, manager and board regularly. Mostly during recent games and afterwards chatting about individual players etc. Mark Allen’s role our fitness guys

I cant hold my praise and adulation until we “win something “ because that’s late on the season cups etc and who knows we might loose out on the league on the last day of the season or what not. Sitting a whole season keeping your tinder dry is going to drive you mental

I get what you’re saying but it’s difficult not to get carried away as this FEELS different

..... fair dues mate .... I admire your optimism as it would be a pretty boring place without differing opinions .... I still have the same enthusiasm for our Club that you do ... just a wee bit more measured I suppose.

Totally agree that it does feel different though ... hence my quote mentioning how "promising" the future looks under SG .... but I will just take it one game at a time for now and not prematurely dish out praise to a certain board member who still has a way to go before that happens.

The board rolled the dice and we didn't know what we were going to get given Gerrard's lack of experience.  Thankfully, it seems like he knows what he's doing and then some.  What encourages me the most is that he's obviously spent a lot of time looking and listening to Klopp and you can clearly see his influence in our high counter pressing philosophy.  Klopp is one of the best in the business and exposure to a guy like that can only have benefitted Gerrard.
