The mental thing to me is that their seems to be an arrogance about Goldson and Tav and they half arse it until they are under the cosh, they haven’t achieved anywhere near enough in their Rangers careers to think they can hand arse it or be arrogant about anything.

It might look like half arsing it but it's not. It's because they freeze. They can't make the correct decisions and they can't make them quickly. So they end up with this lethargic passing from side to side that looks half arsed. Usually the passes are a yard or two behind the receiver or bobbling around so that they have to check their movement to receive the ball. Makes it easy to stay in shape and shuffle around for the opponent.

The wee triangles of passing between Tav Lundstram and Souttar/Goldson really do my head in, it was one of the things the manager spoke about when he came in and being more direct so I don’t know why we’ve reverted to type are the players now ignoring the managers instructions or has the manager after a decent run naively placed more faith in these charlatans.

High possession stats but it’s all between them when instead of missing a player and moving the ball faster they play it amongst themselves and then back to the original position with no advantage gained.

Sunday and five league games all to determine their whole careers with our famous club.

They can leave absolute heroes held high or they can slink off as zeros with a lot of hate from people who actually love our club.

The choice is theirs to make  🚁

Exactly.  After the miserable watch on Wednesday was watching Man City v Real.  Every combination of about three passes ended up with a player on the ball in space - we just aren't doing that (OK they lost, but they were playing Real)

When Tav casually jogs back from a failed forward foray that looks half arsed to me. Or maybe it’s old age.
Goldson’s confidence just seems shot to pieces for some reason and only he’ll know the reason why.

It’s got that bad I’d bring back Borna, Davies and have him partner Soutter with Sterling in the midfield. He’ll never drop Tav or Goldson tbh

This has gone since at least when Gerrard was here, replace Lundstram with Steven Davis. Maybe Tav, Goldson and Barisic just got comfortable playing that way. I’d be interested to know if Butland has received more back passes than any other keeper in Scotland. He shouldn’t be part of a passing triangle but often is.

The problem was there with Gerrard, but I'd have to disagree with that. There's a difference between controlling the tempo, as Davis did in his two spells for us, and not taking responsibility by playing safe, risk free passes. A Davis type player is something this side sorely lacks.

That’s not entirely the case though is it. They’ve spent £6m or more on about 4 players in 20 years. In the past 4 seasons they brought in Furuhashi, Hatate, Abada, Johnstone etc all for less than £5m each and in some cases less than £3m.

In that time we spent £14m on Matondo, Davies, Dessers and Lammers just to name 4.

They shop in similar transfer budget areas as us, even with X amount of millions more in the bank.

We’re the club with the highest wage bill in the country. If reports are correct we have 6 of the 7 highest paid players in Scotland.

But aye, finances.

They were extremely fortunate to end up with the Australian as manager after being rejected by their main target and profiting from the equivalent of insider information on the Japanese market, a market largely overlooked in Europe.  Their signings since he departed have arguably not been any better than ours.

True. Davis was a far superior player.

It’s mind numbing mate, approaching Gio horseshoe levels all because none of them have the baws to take a bit of responsibility.

I wonder what the fuck is happening actually. Same thing happened with Kent, Morelos, Kamara, downing tools. Now its Lundstram, Goldson and whatever name on the team sheet bar 2 or 3. Those guys are paid millions by the club and yet they just let go. Cunts.

That’s all Ive heard since 2019. No bad luck if you’re looking at 2 doubles and treble the 3 seasons after you lose your only league title in 13 years.

They are ran far better than we are, they get most of their transfers right and sell when they are at their highest value more often than not.

We sadly are miles behind that kind of structure. Recruitment needs to be night and day from what we have seen since we came back into the league.

Celtic are set up to have a bad season and instantly recover from it and be ready to challenge again the following season and truth be told have been since the summer they hired O'neil

We used to be too pre 2012 where even during poor seasons under mcleish and Le guen you could still comfort yourself with thinking "we will get the cunts back next season".

Now everything is a project with a 2-3 year plan which was understandable in 2016 when we first arrived but the fact we are still here in 2024 after a title win and a European final with this same attitude is alarming . They have had two what you can class as disastrous seasons in that two decades spell . The Mowbary year and the 55 season. Some hilarious and fantastic memories from both of course but reality is they were back either seriously challenging or winning the league within the next season.
