If you have a look at the SoS Facebook page, you'll see I asked Craig more than a week ago about his application for the post.

I got no reply.?

Yes that fact, though not you by name, was even discussed on FF where both C1872 and CH appear to have lost even more credibility.

To think that this self-serving prick polled most votes ffs:

Those 1000+ contributors that voted for him can have no complaints how it's ended up. A publicity seeker, jumping on the bandwagon for more self gain is how I saw it. What a mess it's become as a result.

So back on topic though someone has tried to deflect again.

Craig Houston will not give up anything, will not be shamed into standing down and although I would say does not have the intelligence to have planned this long term, he has the rat cunning to take advantage of an opportunity.

Sadly he will only be gone when this board is.

I think this is spot on. Houston is part of the cabal using the club for their own benefit.

Its always been the reason they wanted back in, to leech a living from us.

Nothing will change until we get shot of every single one of them and replace them with real honest business men capable of running the club as it should be run.

Perhaps the votes were hacked by the Russians or even some other hacker with a track record

Ffs. By the time it takes me to drive up from Paisley to Aberdeenshire, this thread has added 3 & 1/2 pages. I replied to one poster and it is up another page by the time I read to the end - and still nothing from Greg. Maybe he has given up on Club 1872. Ach well, there's always Ed House CIC.

On another point, a poster on here on more than one occasion derided me for not joining and trying to change things from the inside. If D'Art couldn't manage it, what chance would I have had?

Booler will be IN his element at this.

Sadly, I'm not mate. As much as I don't agree with FO, I'd never wish failure upon those who do.

This idea was badly thought out, poorly executed, and involved the wrong people, and I don't just mean CH.

It was doomed to fail from the get go.

The big issue is, where do we go from here?

It was certainly doomed from 'the merger', pity we couldn't hijack a DeLorean and prevent that from happening.  If the two groups merged could they now be split along the same lines and RF reconstituted?

I would say between all of us we should try and come up with a few names to put forward for it,otherwise the hold CH has will get stronger and we will have less of a voice (ironic with it being a fans group). I don't think we could ever replace D'Art but we do need our voice and a variety of voices to be heard,as sadly c1872 will turn into Sos mark 2

Pollokprod on FF seems to have backtracked completely he only confused the situation with misinformation it could be an honest mistake but i think posters over there are a bit suspicious of his actions now.

Robertson looks Happy.

Looks like Donohoe was right.

CLUB 1872 have revealed the shortlist for their upcoming board elections as work continues on the newly-formed supporter organisation.

A total of 15 candidates will bid for a place at the top table in the coming weeks before power is handed over from the Working Party that has been running the group since several bodies opted to merge earlier this year.

A board of seven will be chosen to represent members and three hustings will be held as those seeking election are quizzed by fans.

Club 1872 released details of the nominees on Thursday morning but one of the candidates – former Labour MP Brian Donohoe – has had his application questioned.

Donohoe quit Rangers First in July as he claimed the group were ‘operating to the benefit of the club and not fans’, while former RF director Kelly Johnstone hit-out at an ‘agenda’ and ‘self-interest’.

Both have now put their names forward to be part of the Club 1872 board but a number of claims in Donohoe’s pitch to supporters have been queried.

The Club 1872 Working Party stated: “Brian Donohoe states in his application that there is ‘every indication that half the contributions could well be handed over to the Football Club to meet expenditure that, it could be argued, is more the responsibility of the Club than any fans’ group’.

“Having served briefly as a board member of Rangers First and a member of the Club 1872 working party, Mr Donohoe should know better than to make such misleading statements to members.

“The funds that Club 1872 members decide to contribute on an individual basis to the Projects element of Club 1872 are subject to the same asset lock and rules as all Club 1872 contributions. Any projects carried out by Club 1872 would be voted on by members and the scenario Mr Donohoe is insinuating could occur is therefore impossible.

“Mr Donohoe had this explained to him several times during his brief tenure on the Club 1872 working party and it is important that members are aware that his comments are inaccurate.

“Mr Donohoe also states that he has “held a number of senior posts within Government”. Club 1872 has been unable to verify that this is the case. Mr Donohoe did serve as a PPS but the UK Parliament’s own website does not consider this a Government post and it could not accurately be described as senior.”

The board hopefuls will have a chance to address members at three meetings – on September 5, September 13 and September 21 – at Ibrox.

Craig Houston of the Sons of Struth will stand for election, as will Rangers First director James Blair, who was proposed by Robert Marshall and Ibrox legend Richard Gough.

Alex Wilson has also put his name forward three years after he was thwarted in a bid to earn a place on the Rangers board at the Light Blues’ Annual General Meeting.

Wilson stood alongside Paul Murray, Malcolm Murray and Scott Murdoch as the group attempted to oust Charles Green and Brian Stockbridge from power.

Other candidates include former Rangers Supporters Trust board member Joanne Percival, who has been proposed by Gordon Dinnie and George Letham, Laura Fawkes, who has been backed by former fans spokesman and Gers director Chris Graham, US-based journalist Shane Nicholson and accountant William Cowie.

Voting will commence on Thursday, September 22 as each Club 1872 member gets a chance to have their voice heard.

Stevie Sinclair, Iain Leiper, Johnathan McGookin, Scott McCulloch, James Durrant and Iain Martin will also stake their claim for one of the seven board berths.

The process will be overseen by Supporters Direct Scotland before the results are announced on Monday, October 3 and the handover from the Working Party to the newly

Then went for tea n scones with Brian Bowman.

Just to reiterate that point - neither myself or my dad proposed CH's involvement in 1872 - either at the election or prior to it.

My dad proposed James Blair and Iain for the board and wholly believes in the integrity of both individuals and their suitability for the roles.

My dad would like me to state on his behalf that Iain has the full support of The Louden Tavern and believes that his he is an upstanding individual who would always put the fans and the club first.  People like Iain are who 1872 need.

Fair play Greg.

What's your opinion on this debacle?
