You said Flanagan cost us 3 goals- correct.

How do you know Halliday, Wallace or Barisic wouldn’t have also cost us 3 goals?

So you’re using hindsight, like me because we should’ve had 4 goals bar an assistants error.

Wallace couldn’t play he’s not even registered.

Barisic was injured and couldn’t play. So again you’re not making much sense at all but I’ll entertain it for one more post...

Flanagan has been poor in recent weeks, Halliday has not. He dropped the in form player for a player who’s been crap in recent weeks. He also didn’t hook him at half time after he’d already cost us two goals - which most managers would have.

Gerrard has zero influence in the decision for offside goal and we are talking about his decisions so that does not even come into this discussion.

anybody expecting SG to sacked, its never happening, the board wil see him as a success ATM. eufa money etc.  Hopefully the board back him for some quality in jan.

Anybody thinking he should be sacked needs their head checked. The squad he inherited was not an overnight fix, we’ve played 27 games this season already and look dead on our feet.

He’s still not immune from criticism though.

Why does it not though when it has a clear influence on the game like Gerrard does?

You can’t just pick the aye it’s Gerrards fault cause he played Flanagan and not acknowledge the obvious error that has cost us at least a point, probably all 3.

Agree but people are expecting far too much of him, their was never going to be instant success.  when he signed, it wasnt going to happen in the first year, we dont have the money for instant success.

people saying weve spent millions, id like to know our ins and outs this year.

Sacking SG, lets wait a while and if no improvement a single on the train to Liverpool. It appears that he is still experimenting with the side....

was joking lol becuae this is what will happen, another manager comes in and gets no time and spends about ten million, then we ship him out and so on

If we are going there, they should’ve had a pen so with the weird argument you’re making we would’ve still lost 5-4. But I’m talking about Gerrard’s decision to start Flanagan being the wrong one, he cost us three goals. That’s his fault. End if discussion.

Gerrard didn't make goldson try to clear with the wrong foot.

Gerrard didn't flag for a dubious offside.

Gerrard didn't deflect the ball into the net.

Gerrard didn't make Candeias go to sleep for the first goal.

He is guilty of not subbing Flanagan at half time for me, and that's close to it.  He could have made a couple of subs a bit earlier when the game started to swing.

It was a close game that could have swung either way, our shambolic defending tonight was to blame and little else.

Manager lives and dies by results , played 26 won 13 draw 9 and loss 4. He needs to stop bullshitting in these press conferences and kick some arse , the players he bought are not performing .

Only negative about Gerrard so far is he doesn't seem to be learning from previous mistakes

Really? I think the rumours of 4 signings in january tells us plenty.. It might just be that he doesnt believe that his current squad is able to deliver his tactics. We are also down a few players, by the way.. For instance, I think that Kent would have been our perfect outball tonight.

Of course he lives and dies by his results.

That's a completely different thing from saying this loss is Gerrards fault.

The buck will obviously stop with him, but the players were to blame for tonight.
