I know the overall standard of this league isn't great and there's a big gulf between the top 5 teams and the rest, but at least the young lads have experienced playing in a meaningful competition for the full season against different styles of teams. The players who stood out will no doubt get loans next season and that will leave the rest to test themselves at this level again. Every team who has been promoted from the lowland or Highland league has walked division 2 so the step up to division 2 isn't much better.

i was at the bonnyrigg v fraserburgh  play off yesterday will be interesting to see if bonnyrigg get through which i think they will can they beat cowdenbeath and relagate another of the duff teams out of league 2    the last time i was at bonnyrigg was when the b team played them off the park and won 5 2  in a game were they could have scored 8

I thought a European semi-final was a once in a lifetime after Manchester run.

Still feels unreal we're in another one.

    McGregor

    Tav Goldson Bassey Barasic

    Jack Lundstram Davis

    Aribo Sakala Kent.

Keep the tie alive for the return to Ibrox.

spot on with that team  has to be davis ahead of arfield

They will drop points against Ross county imo…

we just need to focus on ourselves though. Win one game at a time and see where that takes us.

they wont drop points against ross county    ross county have achieved more than expected  think they will down tools now and of course they have the usual fenian manager

Much as we all laugh at “rumours” from Football Insider, my heart sank when I saw the headline because Lowry is absolutely the kind of youngster we should be building our future around, not crocks on the way out like Ramsey.

Don't know the boy’s current transfer position but I’ll be pissed off if we lose him for peanuts (or fuck all) like Gilmour.

the sad thing is he will go to newcastle  never be seen in their team eventually move on to a championship club or back up the road to a shity spfl club  but money talks and no doubt he will move because of that  newcastle are in a position where they can buy most top players they will not stick a young boy in the team and hope it works

Nah smashing the ball like that is probably a 50% chance of hitting first man

both tavs cross and basseys ball into the box  were terrific  you must have been watching a different game  just admit wright is pish and stop  trying to defend him with other stupid comments

Seen some on FF claim that the allocations for the final are a bit smaller than semi final allocations too because of increased sponsor and corporate take up for the final. No idea whether that is correct or not.

think you will find that is right  would reckon both clubs will get around  20-21 thousand  rest go around the clubs and sponsers

Tbf both our goals came from balls smashed across goal without picking a man out

there is a difference between smashing the ball into a danger area  and hitting the first defender

Probably put him on for his pace and that alone but the same thing could be said of Sakala.

would not argue with that  never been a fan of both but at least sakala offers you something his goal return is not bad  i would celebrate if wright had a shot on target

I've no idea if Scott Wright will ever make it at Rangers as he seems to lack the confidence that could take him to the next level but his part in their goal yesterday was poor for me.

He's in a two man wall but he's got his back to the ball looking at McLaughlin as the free kick is taken which forces the two men to go challenge McGregor and in turn leaves Taylor wide open for the shot.

You never turn your back to the ball at a free kick.

Little things like that change games but the team responded well to pull out the win.

scott wright is rubbish  how gvb put him on as a sub i will never know   even if he does beat a man  his cross always  hits the first defender  he will never be good enough for rangers

To (almost) be fair, there was some discussion around the legitimacy of the free kick that led to their goal.

Must say, with every replay I’ve seen, the degree of contact made by Roofe reduces, to the point where, in the last shot I saw, Carter-Vickers tied himself in knots & just fell over.

that was never a foul  said so at the time before they scored

IF, IF we make it to the final in Seville, and I'm well aware this thread has the potential to be an absolute bloodbath but fuck it, I'm not on here for a debate about covid.

I know there are like minded bears on here and no doubt hundreds outwith the forum who will be travelling to Seville regardless of whatever restrictions are put in our way.

What's the best plan fly to Portugal then hire cars?

Don't worry, I'll make sure and pack a face mask 😄👍

i was at the costa del sol recently  and no one at malaga airport or edinburgh airport asked me for proof of vacanation  all the warnings to make sure you had that with you and it was never checked. in my case at that point i had 3 vaccines and recently because of my age got my spring booster

Assuming the answer will be “no” but is there anyone in these leagues (not including us and them) who is likely to make it? I know nothing about non-league but have heard some of the teams would beat league teams. By the look of it there are youngsters at other teams who are better than some of our youngsters

the only team that would beat a league team i think is bonnyrigg  i think they will beat the highland champs than probably cowdenbeath  most of these teams have older physical players with experience  though stirling y/day looked very young

I went to the game yesterday, it was quite a strange one, we had lots of the ball and looked tidy in the middle of the park, but up front looked utterly toothless.

It felt like Stirling Uni scored with they're 4 attacks on goal

Question marks over the goalkeeper, he had a howler if I'm honest.

The big lad at the back is one hell of a unit, it's like Bassey on steroids, on steroids 😆

i was at the game as well  you summed it up very  well  the big guy at the back  we have just signed i was not impressed with him but maybe it was his 1st game so will give him the benefit of doubt
