After a pretty rough couple of weeks for Steven Gerrard's side, Rangers again rose to the top of the Premiership table on Sunday after a nervy 1-0 win over Hamilton at Ibrox as they looked to get over recent disappointments against Aberdeen, Dundee and Rapid Vienna.
With the European campaign over for the season, all focus now turns to the domestic scene as Gerrard looks to lead his side to their first title since 2011 - but I was left scratching my head in bewilderment reading Gordon Parks' MailSport column yesterday as he described Rangers' league showing so far as 'grim' while taking aim at Gerrard for praising Ibrox director of football Mark Allen for his work in the transfer market over the summer.

In all seriousness, we just don’t have that one or two players capable of opening up defences when they sit ten behind the ball. It’s got to the priority for January. 
Also Lafferty isn’t good enough especially for the system Gerrard plays. 

If he is fit and motivated, why wouldn't Gerrard give him a chance? he is exceptionally good at finding space and say what you like about him but his first time finish rate was phenomenal. 
gerrard was quick to say when he joined that everyone had a clean slate - so let's see that apply to Pena. If Gerrard still thinks he is unprofessional or has issues or is just shite then that's fine with me. But he should be given the opportunity if he applies himself.

Not a lack of effort we just have a chronic lack of creativity. Probably got up out my seat (couch) about 3 times the whole 90 minutes. We need a midfielder or two who can best their man, create space and drive forward 

Was a positive for me tonight having him back in the team. Hopefully can kick on now and be our main LB going forward. You can tell he has some real quality going forward with his passing and crossing abilities and also I thought he done well definsivley as well winning headers in the box. We need to keep the back 4 as that's going to help us play out from the back and also keep our shape (need to stop chopping at CB also). I think borna looks a player to sum it up.

When we strolled the league in 99-2000 folks said we were light years in front of celtic.   But it changed in 1 window they got a few good signings and a good motivator as manager and there was about a 30 point swing by the following season which resulted with them winning a treble.
to put years on that in football is foolish. They are infront by the skin of their teeth paying 6 times more than we pay, 3-4 quality players and we’ll overtake them but the players brought in have to be winners from clubs that demand success.   
On the Morelos theory it’s quite plausible but ultimately just an opinion not backed up by facts.  The facts are he played the same way in Finland as he does for us-JJ says as much in a previous interview.  The lad doesn’t help himself but he has been hard done by on more than 1 occasion. Even when he gets fouled the refs have managed to book Morelos.

Whether you think Murty, Caixinha or Warburton was the man to back we can't keep sacking Managers. 
I'm baffled at some of the decisions by the Manager, but whether you admit it or not there was no expectation of Gerrard winning the League in his first Season with us. He set that precedent with our performances in Europe and our home form. 
Gerrard was a gamble and we need to roll the dice again by backing him in the next few windows. Quality is required and I hope the shareholders allow him to bring it in.
In the meantime, collectively a response is required because we can't continue to not pick up 3 points.

Our crossing is horrendous, unreal how similar that was to playing the beggars down to ten....they’ve simply said, go on have the ball out there as we are quite comfortable you won’t put balls of any quality in.  It’s not even crosses at times it’s a cut back or a simple pass into their box. We must have had 30 plus opportunities today and our ability  to lift our heads and find a Rangers player is staggeringly poor. 
Worst thing that happened to us was that boy going off as we simply have no answer to playing v 10 which is shocking. We are more effective going down to 10 than playing 10. 
It is frustrating watching us repeat the same tactic over and over again however it’s not the tactic that’s the problem it’s our piss poor execution - given the opportunity to be invited to put ball after ball into their box we should be winning that game with ease .  Many saves did the lad actually make in the second half? 
Ive been so bought into what SG has been doing, I remain so but that last week has been atrocious and difficult to defend.

This where playing Worral baffles me. Katic had a good start and then out of nowhere was dropped against Villarreal I think he has had one start since then and was hooked at halftime. Now going by the performance of Worral today and previous games I don't for a second believe that Worral  is a better option than Katic . So why then sign a player for 1.5 million on a four year contract and then play a bang average loanee before him.
