I know what you mean, mate, and I do agree that Gerrard has a presence and credibility that it's very hard for most coaches to recreate. That also fades over time though (as we saw in his last season) whereas I'm hoping now Wilson's gone, Beale will be better at finding guys with the right mentality then moving them on before they go stale. 

Yeah , I'm maybe doing Beale a disservice here but I just think , when somebody of the standard of Gerrard praises you it must give you that confidence to beat anyone , and we seem to be lacking that since he's been gone .

Not sure that age would be much of an issue in that kind of role these days. Especially for a guy who’s still as sharp and healthy as GS. Agree it won’t happen though.

There was a moment in time when I'd have been heartbroken to see them leave, now it can't come soon enough.

I’ve seen enough from Beale in the last 3 OF games to think he knows what he’s doing and can atleast setup up to go toe to toe with them - We have dominated for spells without taking our chances
Biggest issue is the standard of our players until we get better players in nothing is going to change
