wearethepeople1 3,897
@PeterAdamSmith: Asked SFA about players posting pictures of betting coupons on Twitter: "We can't speculate on other possible cases". More on @STVNews at 6.What a surprise
rubyred90 118
If he was to take a penalty at 0-0 with the chance to win the game or get his coupon up, what would he do?Let someone else take the penalty?
CaptainAmerica18 846
He bet that Albion would get a goal kick on the 86 minute. On he 86 minute he blootered it high into the stands. No one blinked twice about it, as it was one of his closest efforts all season. Even though he scored earlier in the game?

Sket 13,610
IF he is found to have bet against us during his time here, even if it is only once he should be booted straight out the door. Will wait and see how this transpires. Could get interesting...
JamieD 18,942
I know what you're saying but something like that would be extremely difficult to prove.Of course, hence the necessity of the rule in the first place. Being found guilty of betting against your own team should be, in my opinion, morally equivalent to being found guilty of match-fixing, in the same way that missing three drug tests is equivalent to a positive, whether you took drugs or not. the goal machine 7,802
So the charge is wrong as it says betting in his team to lose between 2006 and 2013?He could have bet against Inverness or Hearts when he played for them.
elephants stoned 2,994
If he has bet on Rangers while he was playing, he would have to go, I would say someone obsessed has been sitting on this to let out when it can do maximum damage. Players are fucking stupid.Wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Scouse bear 4
Surely if he had any brains he would have got a family member or close friend to put a bet on. I'm sure this is probably common practise but FFS a little bit of anonymity would have been the sensible option.
Captain Hilts 12,819
Bears, for the sake of your sanity, do not watch Reporting Scotland tonight, or read the Daily Rebel tomorrow. you'll thank me for it
The Educator 1,572
Its a pity if the SFA are so against players betting on any game that they are so willing to allow the companies who the bets are placed with to have involvement with the game as sponsors and club partners. How many UK teams now have bookmakers as a shirt sponsor?PS. Wouldn't this be a nice story to cover any mishap by "them" in the CL qualifier this week? TravelingWilBEARy 4,319
Apparently he gambled on the 4-0 win over albion rovers on the 28th of this year.Whether or not he backed against us wasnt said........but he scored in the match
Dennis 1,011
They are allowed to bet on football elsewhere. Some publicly advertise their coupons on twitter so it's safe to say they can. They are banned from betting in any game around the world. Just been confirmed. It was also a ladbrokes phone account. BEARGER 339
@PeterAdamSmith: STV understands Ian Black's most recent match bet was Albion Rovers vs Rangers in Ramsdens Cup on July 28, 2013. http://t.co/RTWKvswaCoAlso being reported he bet against Hearts, ICT and Rangers while playing for them. DiniKen 11
I know of 2 players that have left in the last 2 months that have put coupons on and first goal scorers on their selfs when on loan at other clubs.
Terry Hurlock Loyal 12,133
My god, what next!? I hope for Black's sake this is a false allegation. I just want to see what happens in the investigation first before making speculation about this. I long for the day when the BD front page is entirely football related again. Madina 3,812
Just watched the news and they said the maximum fine that can be issued is a million, plus expulsion from the game. No surrender Ian Black

elephants stoned 2,994
He could have bet against Inverness or Hearts when he played for them.I know but the way its worded sounds like the 3 times he bet against his clubs were between 2006 and 2013 meaning he would of bet against us as he has been here since 2012 or is it just that all the bets he made are from that period and include 3 against his clubs but they aren't specifiying when those bets happened? I'm confused

Why Black has been targeted is probably because hes been caught betting against his own team.
