NamibianBear 1,851
Let off with a general amnesty towards all football players. A rewrite of the SFA rules regarding betting to be issued Monday so that no one can fall foul of this again.Oh wait, it's a Rangers player....24 month ban followed by "death from firing squad", current club fined 200 million, relegated and stripped of any titles they ever won

nachothelegend 1,932
Perhaps someone can clarify something about this for me. I would expect this case to be heard by an SFA Disciplinary Committee with one member being V. Luney, who else would be sitting in on this judgement? As this charge involves gambling does the SFA's Gaming Committee have anything to do with this case? I ask this as this is the group to which one P.Liewell has just been added, now there would be a coincidence. The same people which Ally asked who are these people?Remember that. Big Al 55 9,304
The verdict is certainly guilty we all know that, I suspect the punishment will be a fine in the region of a few thousand pounds. Don't see a ban.
mclovin9091 1,405
I recon, if he bet against his own team, we as a club should terminate his contract. Regardless of what the SFA do, no player should ever bet against his team fuck sake I never do and i only support the club.Another find from a couple of years ago, (came across it by accident when looking for something else)By Tom Hamilton 'Mad gamblers' in SPL can beat addiction just like I did, says Kevin Kyle 5 Feb 2011 00:00FOOTBALL star Kevin Kyle has told how the Scottish Premier League is rife with "mad gamblers".FOOTBALL star Kevin Kyle has told how the Scottish Premier League is rife with "mad gamblers".The Hearts striker - who used to have a £7000-a-week betting addiction - insists there are players at EVERY top-flight club hooked on gambling. And he is now determined to help them beat their habit.Kyle, 29, said: "I could probably pick any team in the SPL and know someone, through word of mouth, who's a mad gambler."Scotland cap Kyle admits he used to blow his entire weekly wages at the bookies. He began punting as a teenager but it spiralled out of control when he started his senior career at Sunderland. And a serious injury in 2004 that kept him out for two years brought the problem to a head.Kyle - who had spells in the English lower leagues before returning to Scotland with Kilmarnock in 2009 - said: "I remember, come the end of each month, having no money left for getting to training, or wanting to go home to Scotland because I'd just be gambling it all away."It was a disaster and I didn't know who to turn to or how I was going to combat this problem, and that's why it probably gripped me for a good 15 years. I've been an addictive gambler for years."I'd bet on who would be next to walk in that door. It's been with me since I was about 13."Fruit machines, betting shops, casinos - then all of a sudden it's completely out of control."I didn't do it because I needed the money. I did it because I was completely bored."But Kyle has now conquered his demons. And yesterday, he spoke of his support for a new project aimed at educating players about the problems. The scheme is being led by players' union PFA Scotland and highlights the dangers of excessive gambling. The union will work with counselling group RCA to take the pilot to some of Scotland's senior clubs.Kyle puts his rehabilitation down to the help and love of his partner but believes the new approach can work - provided the support is offered over a sustained period.Kyle, who moved to Hearts last summer, said: "If that opportunity had come where I could speak to somebody confidentially, it would've been easier."Being a gambler, you feel ashamed of yourself, so to go and speak to someone about it is a very brave thing to do "I'm sure there are kids in youth teams and even senior players who are looking for this kind of help but they're maybe too scared to speak to somebody about it."But if somebody comes to them, it might be the opportunity where they can actually open up and hopefully get it sorted out, because gambling is every bit as bad as drink and drugs. bluenosebrad 452
It will be "welcome Ian who do you play for" Ian replies "Rangers". Ok Peter what do you think " Ya guilty and 12 month ban from football" SFA reply seem fair. Oh you can appeal this decision but we will fine your club 1 mil and drop them down a league. there'sonlyoneamoruso 1,724
Any idea when proceedings are set to start? I'd like to hear sooner rather than later.I'm expecting a lengthy ban and a hefty fine (SFA don't tend to be lenient with our players) but hopefully Peralta/McAusland/Hutton can fill the void. Terry Hurlock Loyal 12,133
Think we may have seen the last of him, he may appeal but he hasn't get a leg to stand on if he is betting against his own team.

bornabear 6,219
Most human beings wouldn't like that.....He will get a small fine....the SFA cannot afford to go to town on black, especially when their case can be ripped to shreds by any decent lawyer. Also if the do charge black then they will be under tremendous pressure to charge every single player who had ever made a bet on any football game, which they won't do.Exactly my thoughts, the harder the punishment, the bigger the can of worms they open. will_1974 204
Any punishment has to be personal and should not impact the club. In other words a fine. No suspension.
woodvale1690 43
if he gets banned, then the younger talent can get a regular spot, if the ban is heavy, surley rangers can off load him for breach of contract, club and sfa rules. tbh i dont rate black and could be an easy option to get him tae
Right_To_Censor 1,951
If rangers terminate his contract then as far as i'm concerned somebody at the club leaked that info so they can get him off the books
