Not one of the journos would have been able to come up with a good reason to listen to Chip on his shoulder Sutton. Didn't live up to the hype as a player and has generally failed at life.

At norwich too mate - more in common with prima donna that maradona.

If you have to be good at management to give your opinion validity then we may as well shut this place down, I don't like Sutton, he's a fully paid up member of that mob, he doesn't make any bones about the fact he's a tim, he calls them we and stuff but to be fair to him he was calling Ronny Deila out for what he was almost as soon as he walked in the door so I think he's at least consistent with his views.

That being said, fuck that lanky big streak of four day booze binge piss

For someone who in one breath claims he will not get involved in spats with (would be or whatever he said) pundits he then creates a spat in the very next breath.

Amusing though his response was, amusement was its only value.  He has just created the means by which a spat is started.  Sutton is bound to reply......and the media with then press Warburton for his counter-reply and so it becomes a super spat.

Warburton has clearly been wound up.   Pity it comes to this.  Can't ever recall previous Rangers managers taking the bait like this about a pundit.  Any examples or is Warburton breaking new ground.   It'll deflect from the Barton barney though I suppose.

Why didn't MW not just say something along the lines of "coming from a guy who was out his depth at Lincoln city"

Im sure he IS keeping that for a more personal dig at the bafoon as no doubt he will have a nother personal swipe at MW. No need to use the best putdowns at first engadgement.

Don't get your point.  Think the manager's response was measured and to the point.  Doesn't matter if Sutton replies (he is going to continue to mouth off anyway), MW can just quote the same response and finish it dead.

If you think MW was wound up in making his response, it's a good job for you that Alex Ferguson never ever got the Rangers job.  I would be absolutely astounded if the likes of Waddell, Wallace, Advocaat, & Smith didn't get tore in in far more aggressive fashion to reporters who spoke out of turn during their tenure.  Just was that in those days, before 24hour news, we probably didn't get to know about every cough and burp like we do now.

Can't you? It's interesting that there is a lot of hype, like your own, around the manager right now. He was clever with that comeback, as implicit as it was possible to be on those remarks. The point is whether the Rangers manager job is too big for Mark Warburton, and is the person who said this talking nonsense.

He, Sutton, is trying to make a name for himself as a pundit with controversial opinions, opinions designed to antagonise people. He was on MOTD2 the other week and made an unnecessary, barbed, comment about the actions of a player or manager, I can't remember what he said exactly but both his fellow pundit and the presenter just looked at him as if to say 'you're out of order'.

He's a very sad man who believes the only way to get on in the broadcasting arena is to try and get peoples backs up by courting controversy and having a different, vitriolic, opinion from everyone else, nothing wrong with having a difference of opinion, it's how you deliver that opinion that earns you respect, and Sutton, it seems, has neither the brains nor the verbal aptitude to gain much, if any, respect.

Suttons managerial record at Lincoln reads this

Played 51 games

won 14

draw 14

lose 23

win record of 28%

Out of the last 14 managers he is sitting a healthy 13th .

Cunt can't even manage his own bank account don't mind a football team.
