I mean the six players that haven’t tested positive

They haven’t tested positive yet. But it can take 14 days for symptoms to display. It’s been 6 months, how do you not understand this yet?

Quick question. Maybe a stupid question.

If you're one of the folk that's a carrier rather than a sufferer (i.e you can pass the virus on, but not well be unwell, show symptoms and be harmed) does this still flag up normally in a test?

Exactly.

I know on the surface it sounds harsh, they're only humans why shouldn't they go out for a beer on their night off etc but that's in ordinary times (which we aren't in at the moment)

They aren't allowed, for a reason.

These are the sorts of conditions, that sound strict, but have to be met if games of football are to be played because it's a contact sport etc.

It really is a big deal. Complete amateur hour.

If players wanted to socialise and have a beer, they could easily have spoken  to the club and had one of the bars/suites opened for them.

Yes it does. Asymptomatic people do test positive.

Once again the absolute incompetence of the spfl/sfa shows itself bright and clear. After the fudge of last season as they had no rules to cover the pandemic, they have had 5 months to consider this could happen.

So why have they not put a rule in place to say how many players have to be out for a game to be cancelled. What timescale of games will be affected. What punishment for clubs who cause problems by breaking the govt guidelines etc etc.

Useless bastards.

Checo Perez (F1 Driver) tested positive and is asympyomatic. He had to miss last week's grand prix, tested positive again yesterday and is out of this weekend's race too. He had to self isolate for seven days. Self isolation (public health england mandated) period ended. Had to then get an FIA test to be allowed in the paddock and was positive.

Sure clubs said the facilities were there for them to use like that.

They have. I know some clubs have used them for it too. Even stuff like movie nights etc just so the players have something to do and arent stuck at home unable to go out.

The spfl were quick enough to cancel the season when the outbreak started but when Aberdeen players test positive the game must go on only for the Gov't to intervene and cancel it.

How Doncaster still has a job is disgusting. He is incompetent.

They think it's pretty much conclusive asymptomatic people do not spread the virus unintentionally. Still though yes they test positive everytime.

I dont know if I can handle the humiliation the charlatans who run Scottish football are going to out us all through trying to manage this season. I wasn't particularly excited for the season starting and I'm already starting to zone out even further because I can see the debacle this is going to be.

Not a stupid question at all mate. it should flag up as a positive test if you have it but showing no symptoms.

However,  covid testing only has a small 5 day window  to catch a positive test, unfortunately there are thousands out there who have Covid and flag up with a negative test.

Testing only captures some cases but if you get tested say ten days after showing symptoms don’t count on a positive test being confirmed. The whole thing is just one big scarey mess.

Not just him m8.

The whole lot of them as that is a decision that will have been reached by committee surely?

He is incompetent but so will the guy they elect to  replace him as he will be part of the corruption that runs through that totally inept organization.

Seems like the rule is the show must go on unless the government tell them they can't.
