He still had chances to score though, Defoe gets played at cf because he can actually finish

Many years does defoe have left and how much did we spend on him, if falkirk are as shite as made out then why are we not playing our near 2mill purchase in his favoured position

Given we are in the mould of buy, improve and sell on for profit, its strange why we buy a young guy and play a near retired defoe in his position instead

You could tell Roofe had a bit about him from his second or third appearance tbh.

so itten's brace against motherwell means nothing?

personally think he needs a run in the team, and he's not the game time roofe has to get into form

Think he offers plenty - Unfortunately we are playing him in an unfamiliar position (RW) and expect him to ‘set it on fire’ with a 3min/10min/20min cameo as a sub. Give him a chance - He’s definitely behind Morelos and Roofe but offers something different if we need it.

Can’t argue that Dykes mite have been a cheaper option with a bigger impact

Doesn’t matter how many years Defoe has left whilst he’s still banging in goals for us, as I said itten had chances and he never took them, 6 minutes in and Defoe had his first chance and he puts it away

Aye true, but defoe has had a full career of experience and games that its second nature to him now, but the fact still remains that we paid good money for a young international striker and continue to play him out of his comfort zone if and when he gets game time

We are knocking back 16mill for morelos in the summer, would he be worth that if he signed and we barely played him and when we did he was played out of position

Todays game was a free hit, no danger really, why not play itten even through the middle for 45mins at least,

Could argue Kamberi would have given us the same as Itten for much cheaper.

There's something about him I really like. He gets into good positions, has a great touch and runs himself into the ground. Wee bit of composure in front of goal (or maybe match sharpness?) and the goals will come for him.

100% looks like he’s forcing it a bit the now because people keep talking about how he’s not scored much

He’s also barely played in his actual position so far

Itten is a year and a half younger and has scored far more goals in the Swiss Super League, has far more caps at youth level and actually has senior caps and goals too.

If you are talking about sitting on the bench and coming on and making a cameo this season then yes, but long term in developing a player to be a first choice goalscorer who we can sell for a profit then there’s no chance Kamberi even gets factored in to that thinking for us.

Should have played through the middle ahead of Defoe last night IMO.  But he has hardly had a chance in his natural position.  Fuck people wrote Morelos off on here in his first season :belm:

What is his natural position?

Because he’s made his move to Rangers playing in a front 2.  (442).

Because winning cup games is more important than developing a player for profit. And Defoe is better than Itten so deserved to play the no9 role. 👍

You could, but you’d be so wrong you’d get laughed out the thread.

Itten is shite at the moment he might well improve but not much with the minutes and positions he's playing for us and isn't good enough to force his way to any better.

I doubt we will see any profit from itten he doesn't look good at all.

I doubt anyone at Rangers would have scored Defoe's goal last night.  Certainly not Itten.
