Revisionism regarding Gerrard

We dropped nine points in 13 games before Gerrard quit, plus we  got beat home and away via Malmö. Difference is Gerrard beat celtic. Under Gio we have dropped 12 points in 18 games with 6 of them being to celtic. We have had issues all season.

For the time being I am backing Gio and hope that the board back him this summer. Gerrard received funds for the first three transfer windows and that group of players set the foundations of a league winning team. Time to have a bit of a clear out and rebuild with a group of players at the beginning of contracts rather than coming to the end.

No meddling with transfers either, let Gio buy who he wants if the prices are right. No PR signings.

The same players that have chucked it, chucked it under Gerrard at the start of the season.

The league would’ve been done a long time ago if he was still here

We got quite a big manager bounce when Gio came in which Gerrard wouldn't have had. The league would've been done a month or so ago under Gerrard. We've been largely pish since December 2020 and coasted to the league because Celtic were a mess.

😆 he left us 4 clear.

Just because Gio shat the bed doesn't mean a man who had Celtic under his brouges would have too.

Malmo second half at Ibrox was the worst half of football Rangers have played all season and that’s on Gerrard. The season was strangled in its cradle.

Celtic hadn't gotten there act together by then though. We wouldn't have had a lead going into the winter break under Gerrard. If Gerrard had been on charge for the Hibs SF we would all have been wanting him out.

They say that our poor form at the start of the season was because the team could read between the lines and knew he was going either sooner or later  ... I have no idea if there is any truth in that? Perhaps it was time for a change most managers these days only do a few seasons at a club ... I always remember SAF saying eventually the players have heard all you have to say in other words if you don't keep turning over the team then you need to freshen up the manager

He may have beaten celtic, but it was far from a straight forward victory. A settled and gelled celtic team would have probably beaten us that day too.

In this case it looks more like the team needed a turn over.

I think too many players in this side were content with just winning 55.

If Gerrard's attitude after he left was he accomplished his remit would it really be a surprise if that was the players attitude well.

So, that means absolutely nothing on its own

Why don't you comment on the easy fixtures he had, the poor tarrier form he was here for

Gerrard hadnt won at tynecastle in 3 visits yet you think he'd have went there in December and won?

The fact is Gerrard left us top of the league , celtic at thst time had an inferiority complex when facing us, we were still im every competition we started the season in.......now we are out 2 and most likely knocked out the semi as well due to the massive shift in mentality since he left.

We are FAR worse now than we were when he was in charge.

You really do have trouble understanding that Celtic have actually got their finger out rather than dropping points all the time like they were while Gerrard was here eh?

It’s a chicken or the egg situation. They were dropping points until Christmas when we were on a winning run. You could argue that us turning awful took the pressure off of them too. You’ve still got to put the points on the board but it’s easier to build momentum and confidence when your rivals are dropping points every other game.

He left us before the weans went out guising ffs, if we were out of more than one tournament at that point he should have been fucking sacked

And as it stood he was on his way out of the EL

And yet we couldn't really do that before gio came in, tarriers at their worst this season yet we were losing to united and drawing 3 home games against utter shite

They dropped points once from the start of November to Christmas, and once since.

It is easier, we could’ve under Gerrard when it was all good but we never.

The biggest difference if we still had Gerrard would be I'd be able to watch the pressers again...

And we wouldn't of lost the OFs.

I've never watched a full GVB presser yet. Can't listen to him.

Was in favour of the appt, and still hoping it works, but cannot listen to him for some reason.

This was a celtic who were just settling. At a time where they were pish we just beat them. I won't get tired of pointing it out but you were told they were coming on and looking better and laughed at people telling you declaring we would win the league at a canter.
